The Boston Camerata, America's preeminent early music ensemble, has announced their 2019-2020 Boston performance season. The concerts and events span from historic Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston, MA, to Seattle, WA. Songs of freedom, rebellion, independence, and love heard through the perspective of early music provide a powerful look at today's political and cultural landscape.

San Francisco Opera announces Canadian soprano Andriana Chuchman as the winner of the 2019 Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Emerging Stars Competition. Chuchman made her Company debut as Mary Hatch in Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer's It's a Wonderful Life last fall and was named a?oe2019 Emerging Star of the Yeara?? based on a popular vote conducted online at sfopera.com from July 9a?"July 31, 2019. As winner of the competition, now in its fourth year, Chuchman receives a $10,000 cash prize.

Austin, TX's Hovvdy have announced their new album, Heavy Lifter, with a lyric video for its lead single 'Cathedral.' The FADER, who premiered the song and profiled the band today, is calling 'Cathedral' a 'a sleepy anthem for late-summer nostalgia' that 'perfectly demonstrates that shift in the way they play and sound on Heavy Lifter.' Heavy Lifter is available for pre-order now and out 10/18 via Double Double Whammy.

MOVEIUS Contemporary Ballet (MOVEIUS), creating a path for ballet to speak to political and societal issues, will perform a trio of climate-inspired works to The Ailey Citigroup Theater, September 23-25, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. Climate: Movement for Change is part of the high-profile New York Climate Week which starts with the United Nations Secretary-General's Climate Change Summit 2019. The evening features a trio of pieces that unite art and activism. GLACIER: A Climate Change Ballet, which imagines dancers as melting polar ice caps, Rite of Spring, Crash of Fall, plays off Stravinsky's score to explore the 2008 financial collapse, and a new piece, tentatively titled Ground Control, is inspired by the first pictures taken of Earth from space. 

The Hangar Theatre Company continues its 45th season with a reimagined take on the classic story, Little Women. This adaptation by Kate Hamill runs August 8-17 with matinee and evening performances. Kate Hamill, a Lansing native and Ithaca College alumna, is currently one of the top five most-produced playwrights in the nation. 

Today, Canadian Opera Company General Director Alexander Neef was named the next General Director of Opéra national de Paris. The official announcement was made in Paris at a meeting of the French Cabinet. Neef's term will begin in the 2021/2022 season, succeeding Stéphane Lissner as current head of Opéra national de Paris; until then, the COC General Director will remain in Toronto, guiding the company through to the close of its 2020/2021 season.

Winner of the SDSU New Musicals Initiative, 'TIL DEATH DO US PART tells the story of Gracie Jean, a spitfire from hardscrabble Tennessee, who is called to preach God's grace, and Matthew, heir apparent to small town Evangelical royalty, who struggles to rebel against his father while maintaining the privilege of his birth. When they meet, it's love at first sight. But what happens when a fairytale marriage becomes a battle of the sexes?

This fall, the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers hosts the nationally touring exhibition that explores Dimensionism, an artistic movement, tracing the influence of early 20th-century scientific discoveries on some of the era's most celebrated artists.

The Huntington Theatre Company's annual Summer Workshop began rehearsals July 9 and will conclude in public readings of four new plays on July 20 and 21, 2019. The workshop allows selected members of the Huntington Playwriting Fellows program two weeks to focus on developing new plays. The workshop and public readings will take place in the South End at the Huntington's Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, 527 Tremont Street, Boston. 

Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis and Producing Director Will Rucker, will open DIG, the first World Premiere production of the 42nd Season, on July 11. The play is written and directed by the Festival's Resident Playwright, Theresa Rebeck.

Afro B has teamed up with multi-platinum selling rapper French Montana to drop the brand new “Joanna (Drogba)” Remix song and video. With a previous unofficial remix via hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes and an official reworking from African megastar Wizkid, the latest remix had to feature a stellar talent. Enter French Montana, the Morrocco-born, NYC-based artist who exploded onto the charts with the Afrobeats-indebted jam “Unforgettable.” Taking Afro B's original vocal melody and flipping the lyrics, Montana elevates “Joanna” with some bold NYC swagger. 

David Archuleta has announced he will hit the road this fall with a 2019 Christmas tour which is sure to feature songs from his 2018 hit holiday album Winter In The Air.  The album featured such hits as “Christmas Every Day”  (which went Top 10 on the Billboard Holiday chart) as well as title track “Winter In The Air”  with the video featuring World of Dance dancer Cassidy Forsyth and So You Think You Can Dance & World of Dance dancer Ezra Sosa.

Comedy Central, the #1 brand in comedy, today announced the greenlight of Good Talk with Anthony Jeselnik, a comedic interview series that will premiere on September 6 at 11 p.m. ETPT. Each episode will feature an interview with one of Anthony's friends – who happen to be some of the best comedians in the business – as they discuss all things comedy. Over the course of six episodes, Jeselnik will sit down with David Spade, Kristen Schaal, Kumail Nanjiani, Natasha Leggero, Nick Kroll, and Tig Notaro.

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce the World Premiere of SAFE SPACE begins tomorrow, June 25, and runs through July 21. This is a new play by Alan Fox; directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien (All My Sons, Henry IV, Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia).

The Western Connecticut State University Department of Theatre Arts participated in the Region One Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in late January/early February for the fourth year in a row. The department once again came out strong by staging a well-received performance of the university's fall 2018 production, 'Uncle Vanya,' at Cape Cod Community College that resulted in five national awards.
