The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) today announced that Gavin Creel and cast members from the Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR will perform at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards on March 13, 2010 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.

The Broadway Workshop, Manhattan's fastestgrowing acting program for young artists teamed up with Broadway star Caissie Levy this week for a special one day workshop fro students ages 9-14 in New York City. BroadwayWorld was there to capture the occasion.

Yesterday, February 16, Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater, and HAIR director Diane Paulus proudly introduced the new Tribe of America's favorite Tribal Love-Rock Musical to the press. The new Tribe will debut on Tuesday, March 9, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, as the current cast takes the production to the West End, opening April 14 at London's Gilegud Theatre.

Last night, February 15, 2010 one time Tony-eligible actor Andrew Kober of Broadway's Hair made his New York solo debut at Joe's Pub with a concert event titled Koberet. As previously seen by about 100 Ohioans in the auditorium of Shaker Heights High, this updated Koberet is an even more self-indulgent version of the phenomenon that took the Midwest by storm eight years ago. In it, Broadway's most famous hetero drag queen muses on his life so far... because no one else will.

Today, the producers of HAIR held an open, non-Equity casting call for the Broadway production, in anticipation of the current cast's upcoming move to the West End. Hundreds of hopefuls flooded The Public Theater where auditions were held, waiting out in the cold in a line that circled the block. BroadwayWorld was there to capture the experience.

New York's acclaimed Public Theater, in association with Cameron Mackintosh, recently announced that 'HAIR', the 2009 Tony-Award winning musical, will open at the Gielgud Theatre on Wednesday 14 April 2010, following previews from 1 April. Tickets went on sale Friday 20 November 2009.
