Legendary performer, musician, producer and “American Idol” TV personality Lionel Richie will be honored with the prestigious Icon Award at the “2022 American Music Awards” (AMAs), the world’s largest fan-voted award show, making him the only artist in history to be featured on the AMAs stage in every decade since the show’s inception.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) has announced the 2022 winners of the Dottie Burman and John Wallowitch songwriting awards. Each recipient receives $500.

Austrian violist Thomas Riebl will be performing a rare US concert as part of the Walter W. Naumburg Foundation's distinguished series featuring past winners, Naumburg Looks Back, on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 7:30pm in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.  This concert celebrates the 40th anniversary of Mr. Riebl's winning of the first-ever Naumburg Viola Award in 1982.

​​​​​​​Ucross and Cave Canem have joined forces to present a literary fellowship that provides creative support to Black poets. The 2022 Toi Derricotte Residency at Ucross has been awarded to interdisciplinary poet S. Erin Batiste of Brooklyn, New York. 

As it moves into the final stretch of its 25th anniversary season, Schmidt Vocal Arts (SVA) is eagerly anticipating the final destination: from June 3–5, 2022, Sarasota Opera will host over 30 singers – the top three winners from each of 13 regional competitions and from an independent, virtual cohort are eligible – competing in the company's William E.
