The 4th Annual Adirondack Film Festival, presented by the Adirondack Theatre Festival has announced its full slate of films and special guests.  This year's lineup includes more than 135 films shown in one weekend (October 17-20) across 6 screens in Downtown Glens Falls.  To open the festival, AFF will feature James Franco's PRETENDERS – shot entirely in Albany and the Capital Reigon.

Hancock Whitney Broadway in New Orleans at the Saenger Theatre announced its 2019 - 2020 season line-up of shows, headlined by the six-time Tony Award and 2018 Grammy Award-winning Best Musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN and also includes MEAN GIRLS; A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL; MISS SAIGON; Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY; ANASTASIA; and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. The 2019-2020 season is presented by the New Orleans Theatre Association and will begin in the Fall. The new season represents a wide range of Tony Award® winners and Broadway blockbusters for New Orleans audiences to enjoy.

Applications Now Open For Prestigious National Arts Competition

The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) announced that applications for the 2020 YoungArts competition will be accepted beginning today, June 4, through October 11, 2019 at youngarts.org/apply. Approximately 700 of the country's most accomplished 15- to 18-year-old artists will be selected through a blind adjudication process and provided with lifelong support through funding, mentorship, community, and creative and professional development opportunities.

BMI Lehman Engel Workshop 2019 Application Deadline Announced

Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) would like to announce that the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop is accepting applications for its first-year composer and lyricist class. The application deadline is end of day on Thursday, August 1st. This prestigious workshop begins in September 2019 and will conclude in June 2020.

Last night, BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) paid tribute to the best in songwriting at its 67th Annual BMI Pop Awards held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. World-renowned singer/songwriter and musician Stingwas celebrated for “Every Breath You Take” becoming the Most Performed Song in BMI's repertoire of over 14 million musical works, GRAMMY Award-winning band Imagine Dragons received the BMI President's Award and legendary music publishing executiveMartin Bandier was named a BMI Icon. The private event, hosted by BMI President and CEO Mike O'Neill and Vice President, Worldwide Creative Barbara Cane, also saluted the songwriters and publishers of the past year's most-performed Pop songs in the United States from BMI's extensive catalog.

Andrew Dykstal, a writer from Arlington, VA, has been named the Grand Prize Winner of the 35th Annual Writers of the Future, and Aliya Chen, an illustrator from Fair Oaks, CA has been named the Grand Prize Winner of the 30th Annual Illustrators of the Future L. Ron Hubbard Achievement Awards for Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests in the genres of Science Fiction & Fantasy held at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood, CA on Friday evening, April 5, 2019.  A capacity crowd of 400 people attended the Black-Tie GALA. Presented by Author Services, Inc. and Galaxy Press, the theme for the two-hour awards show was Retro Robotics.
