Lyric's new grand-scale coproduction of Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's masterpiece West Side Story opens tonight and features Broadway star Corey Cott as Tony and rising star Mikaela Bennett as Maria. Additional lead casting includes Brett Thiele (Riff),Amanda Castro (Anita), Manuel Stark Santos (Bernardo), and Adam Soniak (Action). Performances run through June 2, 2019 at the Lyric Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Drive, Chicago. Seinfeld began this overwhelmingly successful residency in 2016, and continued it throughout 2017 before resuming in January 2019. Seinfeld currently holds the record for the most comedy shows at The Beacon, and is catching up to the total performance numbers of other legendary Beacon Theatre mainstays, including Allman Brothers Band and Steely Dan, who have 238 and 60 performances, respectively. Additional performances as part of the Seinfeld residency have been announced through November 2019.

The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE: MSG) announced that legendary New Yorker and comedian Jerry Seinfeld has added six more 2019 performances at the Beacon Theatre. The newly announced 2019 dates are as follows: September 20, October 25, and October 26, with performances at 7:00pm and 9:30pm on all three nights. The October events will be part of a Netflix special live taping. Tickets will go on-sale for the three new dates on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:00am (EST). Tom Lowe is a pop singer/composer who recently released a short video entitled 'Polanco'. It's enchanting to watch this little miraculous film about a small Mexican city and what goes on in one of its popular bars. The story is based on a real life incident in which Lowe was robbed in the back of a taxi in Mexico City. His disgust of the people eventually turned to respect and love when many came forward, helped him to survive and to produce his video. Lowe, born in England and with a multi-cultural background both here and abroad, discusses 'Polanco'and also his fascinating career thus far as an international pop singer and musical theatre actor.
