Production photos and video have been released of the World Premiere of playwright and performer Donnetta Lavinia Grays' WHERE WE STAND – co-presented by WP Theater and Baltimore Center Stage – opening Off-Broadway tonight, Tuesday February 11, 2020, at WP Theater (1262 Broadway, NYC).

Chicago's Deeper are returning today with their sophomore album Auto-Pain. Compositionally sharper, more far-ranging in its musical ideas and more emotionally direct than the band's celebrated debut, the new album sees the trio building on their critically acclaimed eponymous 2018 LP to embrace aggressively angular riffs, synth-scapes and a poignant cohesion that runs throughout.

The production opens officially on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Due to one week of added performances, it will now close Saturday, March 1, 2020.

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University has announced additional programming associated with its upcoming production of Gloria: A Life. Upcoming activities embody Gloria Steinem's lifelong efforts to achieve equity, inspire empathy, and build community. Activities include Act II talking circles with special guests, partnerships more than forty not-for-profit organizations, a donation drive, and a companion historical exhibition.

Women of Color on Broadway, a non-profit dedicated to supporting women of African, Latin, and Asian descent pursuing careers in musical theater, will present its Purple Crystal Honorary Awards in The Cooper Union's Great Hall on February 10, 2020. This year's honorees are Tony-award winners LaChanze and Melba Moore. The award celebrates the heroines of African, Latin, and Asian descent who paved the way for the next generation of women of color in theater.

This morning, Bear Hands confirm their 31-date tour of the United States. The 25th anniversary of Alanis Morissette's game-changing album 'Jagged Little Pill' is coming up, and the artist has announced a slew of tour dates to celebrate.

The Drama League (Artistic Director Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Director Bevin Ross) announced today the acting company for the 36th annual DirectorFest, the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing. Directorfest will take place January 10 - February 4, 2020 at various locations around NYC: The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street), The Drama League Theater Center (32 Avenue of the Americas), LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (31-10 Thomson Avenue), and Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street). WP Theater, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Lisa McNulty and Managing Director Michael Sag, has announced that the world premiere of playwright and performer Donnetta Lavinia Grays' Where We Stand, co-presented by WP Theater and Baltimore Center Stage, will star Grays [Men on Boats, In The Next Room (or The Vibrator Play)], who will alternate select performances with David Ryan Smith (One Man, Two Guvnors; Passing Strange) beginning February 15. Directed by Tamilla Woodard (Hadestown Broadway associate director), previews begin Off-Broadway on Friday, January 31 at WP Theater with an opening night of February 11, 2020. The limited engagement at WP Theater will run through March 1, 2020 before playing Baltimore Center Stage April 2-26.

The awards, totaling $415,000, allow 9 productions extra time for the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, hoping to extend the life of the world premiere play after its first run. 

Bucks County Playhouse has announced the world premiere production of the new musical adventure, a?oeOther World.a?? The musical will begin performances at the Playhouse on March 13, 2020 and run through April 11, 2020, with an official opening night on March 28.

Billboard, the leading destination for charts, news, trends and innovations in music, announces today its 14th Annual Women in Music Event, Presented by YouTube Music and hosted by Hayley Kiyoko. The high-profile event, held in conjunction with the release of Billboard's Women in Music issue, will happen on December 12 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California and will honor the most powerful female artists and executives in the industry including Alanis Morissette, Brandi Carlile, Desiree Perez and Nicki Minaj. The Drama League announced today the 2020 line-up of DirectorFest: The 36th Annual Directors Festival, the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing.
