The “practically perfect” 70-minute musical is an exciting stage adaptation of the classic tales of Mary Poppins. Audiences will join the Banks Family as they encounter adventure after fun-filled adventure with their curious new nanny, Mary Poppins. Adapted especially for young performers, this musical includes favorite Sherman brothers songs such as “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Feed the Birds,” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” as well as wonderful new songs by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. With colorful characters and an irresistible score, MARY POPPINS JR. is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for all ages!

Fran Drescher dished on the upcoming musical adaptation of The Nanny, that has been in the works for over two years.

Joining the previously announced David Harbour and Bill Pullman are Hanako Footman, Akiya Henry, Sinead Matthews, Charlie Oscar and Stephen Wight. Directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, the production opens on 26 June at the Ambassadors Theatre, with previews from 15 June, and runs until 4 September.

The Muny announced today that Laila Fantroy and Gabe Cytron will star as Jane and Michael Banks in the high-flying production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, July 5-13, 2022. Fantroy is a rising eighth grader at Christ the King Catholic School and Cytron is a rising ninth grader at Parkway High School. Both actors are part of the Muny Kids program. Mary Poppins is directed by John Tartaglia, choreographed by Patrick O’Neill, with music direction by Brad Haak. 

Mrs. Doubtfire will welcome new cast members to the company, all making their Broadway debut. Titus Landegger and Tyler Wladis will share the role of Christopher Hillard while Austin Elle Fisher and Ava Gail Prince will share the role of Natalie Hillard. Renée Reid also joins the company as a swing.

Theatre Memphis has announced its 2022-23 season as it enters its second 100 years of continuously entertaining the community. After the centennial season saw limited capacity due to COVID 19 protocols, the theatre will continue to moderate seating capacity mask requirements for the patrons until restrictions are lifted to ensure patron safety.
