The Oakland Symphony announces its 2021-2002 concert season that will celebrate the 30-year-anniversary of Conductor and Music Director Michael Morgan leading. The season will run October 15, 2021 to May 20, 2022 and will present eight performances at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, CA. Since 1991, Michael Morgan has led the Oakland Symphony and has transformed the organization's international presence, personified the City Of Oakland's diversity, and become a trailblazer and pioneer in modern music.

It was just announced by the Pulitzer Prize organization that Katori Hall's The Hot Wing King has officially won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This year's finalists included Circle Jerk by Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley and Stew by Zora Howard.

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. Toho Co., Ltd. has just announced the world premiere of a new theatrical production based on Studio Ghibli’s Oscar-winning film SPIRITED AWAY (original title: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi). This production will be the first ever stage adaptation of the 2001 animated masterpiece by Hayao Miyazaki which became a massive box office hit in Japan and earned worldwide acclaim including Academy Award for Best Animated Feature of 2002.

The American Opera Project announces the return of its Composers & the Voice program for its 2021-2023 seasons.
