MCC Theater announced today additional performers for Miscast22, which returns to the Hammerstein Ballroom on Monday April 4, 2022. The evening will honor Emmy and Tony Award® winner Christine Baranski, MCC Board Chair Susan Raanan, and MCC Youth Company Alum Alexander Lambie.

Promethean Theatre Ensemble will return from its pandemic hiatus with a modern dress storefront production of Shakespeare's epic RICHARD III. The Metropolitan Opera today announced its 2022–23 season, which features seven new productions, the most in ten seasons. Opening Night is September 27 with the company premiere of Cherubini’s Medea, starring soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role alongside tenor Matthew Polenzani in David McVicar’s new staging, conducted by Carlo Rizzi.

Red Hot Chili Peppers will unveil their new, twelfth full-length album, Unlimited Love. It notably marks their first recording with guitarist John Frusciante since 2006 and first with producer and longtime collaborator Rick Rubin since 2011. Now in its 53rd season, under the baton of Music Director and Conductor Maestro Cal Stewart Kellogg the Symphony will perform works by English composers Sir William Turner Walton and Sir Edgar Elgar in a Salute to England, featuring violist Nancy Buck at 2 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 16.

The Shaw Festival is mourning the death of Christopher Newton, former artistic director, who died peacefully yesterday morning at the age of 85. Actor, stage manager, playwright, artistic director, Mr. Newton made a momentous impact and life-long contributions to the Canadian theatre landscape and performing arts.
