This week, the cast of the fairest panto in the land came together for the first time in costume to officially launch Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which plays atBirmingham Hippodrome from Saturday 21 December 2019 - Sunday 2 February 2020.

We're throwing it back and celebrating the importance of education by looking back at some of your favorite Broadway stars' theatre roots in their local musicals and plays growing up! Greenville favorite Edwin McCain and accomplished songwriter Maia Sharp return for the Peace Center's Songwriters Concert Series and Workshop Series. Each concert brings a new guest singer-songwriter to the Upstate for an intimate one-of-a-kind listening room experience in Genevieve's theater lounge at the Peace Center. The guest artists will also join McCain and Sharp for a four-part Workshop Series.

The Seth Rudetsky Broadway Concert Series presented by Mark Cortale returns to Parker Playhouse in 2020. The series, co-presented by the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, delivers three intimate evenings of incredible music and hilarious conversations hosted and music directed by the Sirius XM Radio star, whom the New York Times dubbed a?oeThe Mayor of Broadway.a?? The series features three Tony Award winners and critically-acclaimed powerhouse talents: Kelli O'Hara (The King & I) on January 3, Stephanie J. Block (The Cher Show) February 22 and Santino Fontana (Tootsie) on April 3.

Broadway's beloved couple, Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley are the center of a fundraising benefit for the Cancer Support Community and it is sure to be a night to remember.

Fresh off of a successful summer tour throughout the east coast, Tori Scott returns to Joe's Pub with her new show, Tori Scott is Overserved,  on Thursday, October 3rd at 9:30pm. Overserved is an evening of belting, boozing, and bad decisions. 

George Street Playhouse has a new home at the brand new NBPAC (New Brunswick Performing Arts Center) which also serves as the resident home for American Repertory Ballet, Crossroads Theatre Company and the Mason Gross School of the Arts. The new cultural venue is set to open this evening (Wednesday) with an invitational gala at 6 pm at the Elizabeth Ross Johnson Theater, the larger of the two state-of-the-art theatres at NBPAC. This special event will feature two musical numbers performed by the stars of George Street Playhouse's upcoming engagement of the new musical LAST DAYS OF SUMMER, based on the best-selling novel by Steve Kruger and directed by Jeff Calhoun (GREASE, NEWSIES). NBPAC marks a new era in George Street Playhouse's esteemed history of bringing world-class productions to New Jersey audiences.

Tony-nominated actress Emily Skinner has been announced as the headlining entertainer for Lyric Theatre's largest annual fundraising event a?" the Broadway Ball a?" set for Friday, November 8.

September brings some of music's most iconic female performers including Motown stars Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Lady of Soul Oleta Adams and '80s icon Jody Watley. Local artists include the Honolulu Jazz Quartet, Henry Kapono presenting his Artist 2 Artist Concert Series featuring Blayne Asing, Elijah Sky and Mike Lewis's 2nd Annual Tribute to the Great City of New York. The Blue Note Comedy Series continues with comedian Esther Ku and '90s Alternative super group 10,000 Maniacs makes their Blue Note debut. We're celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Eddie Ortiz & Son Caribe and Yvette Moore presents a tribute to Gloria Estefan. Stef Mariani's invites you to her album release celebration of 'Highway of Love' and local favorites Good Foot Hawaii! take the stage. The Hawaii News Now Jazz Legends Series continues with Keiko Matsui and Lightnin' Larry Dupio presents an eclectic night of traditional and original Big Island blues. Willie K returns, electric blues guitar powerhouse Robben Ford takes the stage and the month rounds out with singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, The Cher Show on Broadway will play its final performance today, August 18, 2019 following 34 previews and 296 regular performances.

Since the beginning of summer 2019, Broadway has bid farewell to a whopping eleven productions. Some were pre-scheduled. limited runs; others long-running favorites; all equally missed. Before the end of August, six more will take their final bows.

Ethan Riordan will be performing his original song cycle, Flicker, on August 20th at 7 pm at The Green Room 42 in Yotel Times Square. The song cycle explores themes of connection and disconnection in its various forms--whether it be moving on or standing still. Performing with Ethan will be Kerstin Anderson (My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music), Micaela Diamond (The Cher Show) and Sophia Gennusa (Matilda the Musical, Dr. Zhivago). This show is being produced by John Mara, Jr.

After bringing delight to countless audiences in the past year, five of Broadway's show-stopping musicals are taking their final bows in the coming weeks: The Prom, The Cher Show, Be More Chill, King Kong, and Pretty Woman. To celebrate each of these shows' amazing runs, we're giving you a look back at the productions, from opening night to their lasting impact, as well as a peek at what's to come for these shows after the final curtain.
