Since its inception in 1999, the Sad Clown series has seen over a dozen iterations in numerous formats, including rare 4-track demos, live recordings, a DVD of behind-the-scenes tour footage, a mixtape, 7” vinyl singles and more. To this day, one of the earliest volumes – Sad Clown Bad Dub 2 – still remains one of the most celebrated installments.

The track synthesizes industrial overtones, thick bass, jarring squeals, and apocalyptic flows into a future-facing gothic hip-hop dreamscape. 1nonly’s guttural delivery barely cracks a whisper as he warns, “I’m riding round with this TOOLIE BEAM.” Meanwhile, Miami underground phenomenon and fellow audio insurgent Pouya rolls through.

The cast has been revealed for The Contention (Henry VI, Part II) at Shakespeare & Company, directed by Founding Artistic Director Tina Packer and staged June 17 through July 15, opening Saturday, June 24.
