Chicago will celebrate 25 years on Broadway tomorrow Tuesday, November 16th at 6:30PM with a very special performance. Beginning at 5PM on the TKTS Red Steps in Times Square the Brooklyn United Marching Band will march to 49th Street playing Kander & Ebb music. The Ambassador Theatre will be lit in red with a star-studded red carpet. 

In December, New Conservatory Theatre Center closes out 2021 with a bang with the premiere of iconic playwright Martin Sherman's Gently Down the Stream. Touchingly earnest and deeply witty, this epic play is a surprising and constantly evolving love story that crosses generations.

During a press conference held today, Taylor Hackford, director,  Board member of the Franco-American Cultural Fund and COLCOA Program Committee member, announced the opening film of the 25th Annual COLOCA French Film and Series Festival will be the North American Premiere of writer/director/author Emmanuel Carrère!s BETWEEN TWO WORLDS, star ring Academy Award winner Juliette Binoche.

The Den Theatre presents comedian Alex Edelman for five intimate performances October 28 – 31, 2021 at 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. (Theatre 2B) in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. On Saturday, October 2nd, the Sharon Playhouse will present a star-studded and glittering salute to EGOT recipient and Broadway’s Uber Maestro, the great Jonathan Tunick. The evening is conceived and directed by Alan M-L Wager and supported by a 27-piece orchestra with appearances by Broadway Guest Stars and Broadway Special Guests.

At tonight's reopening of Broadway's Chicago, the show's director Walter Bobbie paid tribute to the production's legendary choreographer and original star, Ann Reinking, who passed away in December 2020.

Producers Barry and Fran Weissler have just announced casting for the Broadway company of CHICAGO, which resumes performances at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W 49th St, NYC) on Tuesday, September 14th. Leading the company will be Bianca Marroquín making her debut in the role of Velma Kelly, Tony Award-winner Lillias White as Matron “Mama” Morton, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Ryan Lowe as Mary Sunshine. Casting for the roles of Roxie Hart and Billy Flynn will officially be announced soon, but according to an Instagram post from casting office Stewart/Whitley, Ana Villafañe will play Roxie.

Now added to the programme are shows Perfectly Frank, Twice Nightly and Swan Song, with cast announcements for 2Gorgeous4U, Everybody’s Talking About Musicals, Boing…Meow! The Musical, and Broken Biscuits. Tickets are on sale for all shows. 

The Echo Theater Company's world premiere production of Poor Clare will open in October, 19 months after the originally scheduled March, 2020 opening that was shuttered by the pandemic. Echo associate artistic director Alana Dietze (Dry Land, The Wolves) is back at the helm of Chiara Atik's powerful and very funny modern spin on the medieval story of Saint Clare of Assisi.

For their 38th season at Undermain they are creating an exciting array of diverse performance opportunities to inspire and enrich our community and support artists in North Texas. They hope to be able to offer live performances in addition to the virtual streaming videos for each production.
