On January 19th, 2020 Shine Theatre Arts Project will present A TIME TO ROCK featuring kids and teens from School of Rock, Broadway and National Tours. The show also includes several young performers with various Broadway and professional credits. The show was established in 2019 as a way for the closing cast of Broadway's School of Rock to come together and has taken on a life of its own. This event will be directed and produced by, Leorah Haberfield, Artistic Director and founder of Shine Theatre Arts Project with musical direction by, Ben Boecker.

Check out Joe's Pub lineup for the Under the Radar festival featuring new and experimental work from Rizo (fka Lady Rizo), Lucy McComick, Daniel J. Watts, and Ryan J. Haddad. Rounding out the week is Kittel & Co, Ethan Lipton & His Orchestra, Jean-Michel Blais, Rev Billy, a very fun showcase from DANCE NOW, Nellie McKay, Aditya Prakash, Damien Sneed, William Prince, Xenia França, Luis Enrique and, as always, a ton more.

GRAMMY® Award-winning artists Sammy Hagar and LeAnn Rimes; current GRAMMY Award nominees Luis Fonsi and Ashley McBryde; past GRAMMY Award nominees Gavin DeGraw and Johnny Depp; and Cheap Trick will join the performance lineup at the 2020 MusiCares® Person of the Year tribute concert honoring Aerosmith on Jan. 24. The lineup includes previously announced performers Gary Clark Jr., Alice Cooper, Foo Fighters, H.E.R., Jonas Brothers, Emily King, John Legend, John Mayer, and Yola. Greg Phillinganes will be the musical director, with additional guest performers to be announced.

Due to popular demand, the Bay Area's favorite Clown Prince of Fools, Unique Derique, returns to The Marsh Berkeley for a limited run of Fool La La: Once Upon a Mind. Full of brand new, mindfully comedic mishaps for all ages, this zany circus extravaganza invites audiences to dive into the imagination of Unique Derique as he embarks on a whimsical adventure of mindfoolness through the wacky lens of clown logic. Packed with his trademark circus-inspired tricks, Fool La La: Once Upon a Mind sends Unique Derique on a joyful journey where the past and the future collide in delightfully absurd ways.

Come deliciously decked out in Belle Epoque-inspired fashions and dance the night away as you are transported to the look and feel of the famous and sensuous MOULIN ROUGE, as reimagined by our designers Rodrigo Martinez (Oklahoma!), Attilio Rigotti and Andrew Diamond. VOULEZ-VOUS? ENCORE! is part of RETRO FACTORY, an LGBTQ+ immersive Party Series produced by Theatre C, in partnership with Queer Queens.

A Christmas Carol, which opened on Broadway November 20, 2019, has just broken another box office record at the Lyceum Theatre. Adapted by Jack Thorne and directed by Matthew Warchus, A Christmas Carol grossed $954,054.40 over nine performances for the week ending December 29. It tops the house record previously held by Oh, Hello, the Nick Kroll and John Mulaney comedy that grossed $911,602 for the week ending January 1, 2017.

Staten Island's Sundog Theatre has announced its 2019-2020 Season: A Christmas Carol, Ellis Island: Gateway to a Dream, the original Scenes from the Staten Island Ferry 2020 and the comedy, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged.

Solea Pfeiffer (New York City Center's Evita, West Coast Premiere of Hamilton) and Emmy Raver-Lampman (Netflix's The Umbrella Academy, Original Broadway Cast of Hamilton) are set to star as the Clarke sisters, Mary and Martha, in Signature Theatre's world premiere production of Gun & Powder with book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri and music by Ross Baum. Gun & Powder will run from January 28 a?' February 23, 2020 in Signature Theatre's intimate MAX Theatre and will be directed by Robert O'Hara (Broadway's Slave Play).

The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati will present ANNIE JR. at the Taft Theatre February 29-March 9, 2020.

On December 21 at 8:00 PM, the Pacific Ballroom of the Long Beach Arena (300 E. The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent feature films selected across all categories for the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 23a?"February 2, 2020. TheatreZone, a Naples-based professional Equity theatre specializing in Broadway musicals, begins its 15th season with Home for the Holidays which will be presented at Dec. 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 14 and 15 at 2:00 p.m.

Citadel Theatre Company has extended the run of its 2019 holiday season production of ANNIE by two weeks, to Sunday, January 5th, giving audiences the chance to enjoy this ever-popular family favorite throughout the holiday season. The additional performances will be Saturday, December 28 at 8 pm; Sunday, December 29 at 3 pm; Thursday, January 2 at 7:30 pm; Friday, January 3 and Saturday, January 4 at 8 pm; and Sunday, January 5 at 3 pm.
