The Old Globe today announced plans for the long-awaited full reopening of its three theatres in Balboa Park. Audiences will be able to once again gather in the Globe’s outdoor theatre starting June 4 and in the two indoor theatres in September.

Popejoy Presents announced the 2021-2022 season featuring the long-awaited Broadway national tour of HAMILTON, now scheduled for 24 performances over three weeks, from January 25 through February 13, 2022. The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. Rhymes Over Beats Hip Hop Theater Collective is premiering its third new play for Black History Month, Rodney Hick’s MS. PEARL’S CABARET, as part of CreateTheater’s Monday Night Reading Series on Monday, February 22 at 7PM/EST, 4PM/PST. This Zoom reading is directed by DeMone Seraphin. The reading will  stay available to the public until Friday, February 26.
