It was the evening of Wednesday, November 10,1993, and the Minskoff Theatre was packed with VIP guests, producers and theater royalty waiting for the opening night to begin. Four bars of music played while the curtain opened and the spotlights glowed on someone making their Broadway Debut as the Narrator in the show. The singer was the unforgettable Kelli Rabke and the show was the revival of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.

It has been celebrated for exploring hard-hitting subject matter without the dewy-eyed sentimentality that so often infects this theatrical genre. Fortunately, Blackfriars' production delivers with the power and grit of the original Broadway production.

An enduring member of the Marvel universe (both cinematic and TV) as Agent Phil Coulson, Clark Gregg will be making his Los Angeles stage acting debut in his long-time friend David Mamet's new play THE CHRISTOPHER BOY'S COMMUNION. Slated for an eleven-performance run at the Odyssey beginning February 13, 2020; this cast includes: Fionnula Flanagan, Dominic Hoffman, William H. Macy, David Paymer, Rebecca Pidgeon and John Pirrucello. I managed to catch Clark for a quick phoner.

Next to Normal is not to be taken lightly but it's also not to be missed. The cast delivers pure emotion and the audience, in turn, is moved to new sensations. The show runs at Germantown Community Theatre until February 16th, making it the perfect addition to Valentine's Day weekend plans.

The new musical Almost Famous has posted an audition notice announcing a run at a Broadway theatre next fall! According to the listing, previews are set for October 2020 and the production will open in November 2020. 

Battersea Arts Centre is launching itself as the world's first Relaxed Venue on 7 February 2020.
