Rubicon Theatre opens the company's 22nd Season with an environmental production of the musical Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, opening October 26 at 7pm and continuing through November 10, 2019. Directed by Kirby Ward, with a company of 23, the production runs Wednesdays through Sundays in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District at the company's home at 1006 E. Australia's leading theatre producer John Frost and Her Majesty's Theatre owner Mike Walsh today announced an exciting new initiative, Kid's Week at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory from 4-8 December 2019. During this week, every child 15 years and under will receive a free ticket to the show when accompanied by a full paying adult. Plus, as a special behind the scenes bonus, children will get to experience the fun, the people and the magic behind the show. This is a first for the Australian theatre industry.

New York's leading LGBTQ film festival, NewFest, has announced the full lineup of their 31st annual celebration of the year's best LGBTQ films from around the world. As announced earlier this week, the festival will kick off the festival's 31st edition with the New York premiere of Mike Doyle's Manhattan-set ensemble rom-com SELL BY, featuring an eclectic cast including Scott Evans (Netflix's “Grace and Frankie”), Kate Walsh (ABC's “Grey's Anatomy”), Academy Award-nominee and Emmy Award-winner Patricia Clarkson, Michelle Buteau (Netflix's “Tales of the City”) and Augustus Prew (HIGH-RISE), and will close the festival with the New York premiere of Rodrigo Bellott's award-winning film TU ME MANQUES, which was recently announced as Bolivia's submission for Best International Feature Film selection for the 2019 Academy Awards. 

Singer-songwriter Mandy Moore has shared a soul-stirring new single titled 'When I Wasn't Watching.' A classic piece of California pop centered on her captivating vocals, the song is set to appear on Moore's forthcoming full-length effort - her first album in over a decade, due out via Verve Forecast early next year. The video for 'When I Wasn't Watching' is a softly stunning visual directed by Lauren Dukoff, photographer/director known for her work with Adele, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga.
