Michael Ball makes his West End debut as a producer after falling in love with the enchanting new British musical, Love Story.

Now following a critically acclaimed sell-out season at the Chichester Festival Theatre, Love Story transfers to the West End for a limited season from 27 November 2010 Ė 26 February 2011.

Inspired by Erich Segalís best-selling iconic novel and one of the most romantic films of all time, this life-affirming musical is scored by the Emmy and BAFTA award winning composer Howard Goodall with lyrics by Stephen Clark.

Oliver Barrett IV went to Harvard and Jenny Cavilleri to Radcliffe. He was rich, she was poor. He was sporty, she played music. But they fell in love. This is their story. A celebration of love and life, Love Story will win your heart. And it might just break it.

BWW Review: IM WEISSEN R√ĖSSL (THE WHITE HORSE INN) at Renaissance Theater Berlin - The audience was happy, this critic, not so much.
by Mark Janicello - Jul 8, 2018

The Singspiel, like¬†the operetta, are precursors to the modern musical, where spoken dialogue is interspersed with musical numbers.¬† ¬†IM WEI√üEN R√ĖSSL (THE WHITE HORSE INN) boasts a simple Love Story and very good, memorable melodies from Ralph Benatzky, Robert Stolz, Robert Gilbert and Bruno Granischstaedten.¬† These are¬†the foundation that has turned IM WEI√üEN R√ĖSSL into the most-produced musical work of all time.¬† In the right hands and with the right cast, this show can be both entertaining and charming.¬† To be fair, the Berlin audience thoroughly enjoyed this production.¬† This critic, not so much.. BWW Review: Well Executed CONSTELLATIONS at Epic Theatre Company
by Andria Tieman - Jul 16, 2018

Playwright Nick Payne is someone who asks a lot of his audience.  On its surface, CONSTELLATIONS is the story of the relationship between Marianne and Roland, in execution though, the play examines every possible iteration of that relationship a bit like if the movie Sliding Doors had 50 Gwyneths in it. The requires the two actors in this 75 minute play to become multiple different versions of their character with just a brief pause and audio signal to the audience that things are changing.  Thankfully, Epic Theatre regulars Hannah Lum and Christopher Crider-Plonka are up for the challenge and manage to create what feels like a masterclass in character creation. The wonderfully spare set design by Jillian Eddy serves the story and creates visual interest without distracting from the drama and humor of the Love Story. (more...)
