Nottingham Playhouse and Leeds Playhouse have announced more of the casting for their upcoming co-production, Piaf. It includes the news that Sally Ann Triplett is set to reunite with friend Jenna Russell for their first performance together since 1987, in the West End premiere of Sondheim's seminal musical, Follies.

The Norton Museum of Art has announced that Kristin-Lee Moolman has been awarded the Museum's biennial Rudin Prize for Emerging Photographers. Launched in 2012 by Beth Rudin DeWoody and Tim B. Wride, the museum's William and Sarah Ross Soter Curator of Photography, the Rudin Prize celebrates under-recognized photographers who are creating work that pushes the boundaries of the medium. Nominees are proposed by a panel of internationally renowned artists, and the winner is selected by members of the Museum staff and Photography Committee. The $20,000 prize is sponsored by the May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation.

2019 has come and gone, and we are reflecting on those we have lost in the Broadway and theatre communities throughout the year.

For the holiday season veteran and award-winning stage actor and play director Darryl Maximilian Robinson ( The Founder, Artistic Director and Producer of the multiracial, non-Equity professional chamber theatre, The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago and a classically-trained Los Angeles-based performer ) returned to his classical theatre experience ( he began his early professional stage career playing leading and featured roles with The 1982 National Shakespeare Company Tour of New York, The 1985 Indianapolis Shakespeare Festival and The 1989 Bristol Renaissance Faire of Kenosha, Wisconsin ) and reunited with talented editor, video-camerman and fellow actor Danny Belrose to record a less-than-perfect 'Street Theatre' rehearsal of the famed 'St. Crispin's Day Speech' as The King from William Shakespeare's 'Henry V' which Mr. Robinson presented upon the steps of The Entrance of LA's Historic Lincoln Heights Jail ( which he referred to as 'The Old Cypress Prison' ) on the afternoon of December 19, 2019 as part of a series of theatrical activities Mr. Robinson is sharing as part of The Excaliber Shakespeare Company Los Angeles Archival Project.

Otero has been recognized for his artistic achievement and joins 686 of the nation's most accomplished artists in the visual, literary, and performing arts.

Catarina de Luca Figueiredo of Miami, Florida from New World School of the Arts has been named a 2020 National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) Finalist in Theater, the organization's highest honor. De Luca Figueiredo has been recognized for her artistic achievement and was selected by an esteemed discipline-specific panel of artists through a rigorous blind adjudication process. YoungArts award winners gain access to one of the most prestigious programs for emerging artists in the United States in which they will have opportunities for creative and professional development throughout their entire careers. The American Dance Festival (ADF) will present the 2020 Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award for lifetime achievement to acclaimed choreographer Shen Wei. Established in 1981 by Samuel H. Scripps, the annual award honors choreographers who have dedicated their lives and talent to the creation of modern dance. Shen Wei will be in residence at ADF during the 2020 season working on his latest ADF commission set on ADF students. ADF Director Emeritus Charles L. Reinhart will present the $50,000 award in a brief ceremony on Thursday, July 23rd at 8:00pm, prior to the Footprints performance in Reynolds Industries Theater.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has just announced complete casting for the first Broadway production of Charles Fuller's award-winning drama A Soldier's Play, directed by Kenny Leon.

The ASCAP Foundation announces that multi-platinum recording artist, songwriter and social justice activist Natalie Merchant will be recognized with The ASCAP Foundation Champion Award and composer, conductor, artistic director and founder of the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC) Francisco Núñez will accept The ASCAP Foundation Life in Music Award at The ASCAP Foundation Honors on Wednesday, December 11 in New York City.

Hailed as 'the best party in town,' by New York's Cabaret Scenes Magazine, The Nitz/ Howe Experience marked a major milestone in September, 2019. Celebrating its 20th year anniversary, with over 1200 shows at their home base of Chicago's Davenport's, it became the longest running cabaret show in the country.

BRIC, Brooklyn's leading presenter of arts and cultural programming, is pleased to announce the recipients of the first Colene Brown Art Prize, which awards ten under-recognized New York-based visual artists with $10,000 unrestricted grants. The Colene Brown Art Prize is underwritten by artist and BRIC Board Member Deborah Brown in memory of her late mother, Colene Brown, and is funded through the Harold and Colene Brown Family Foundation.
