Carnegie Hall celebrates the start of its 2022–2023 season with an Opening Night Gala concert on Thursday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m. featuring The Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Acclaimed pianist Daniil Trifonov is the soloist for this special evening, performing Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1. On Friday, June 17 at 4 PM, Greenwich House will host a “Juneteenth Jubilee” ahead of Juneteenth Independence Day (June 19). This commemorates the date in 1865 when Union General Gordon Granger, accompanied by federal troops, arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation from 1863.
