Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival has announced the complete principal casts, creative teams, and events planned for the previously announced summer season.

Blue13 Dance Company, the celebrated LA-based dance ensemble living at the intersection of diaspora and disruption, returns to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts with five culturally daring Bollywood-inspired works by Artistic Director and prolific choreographer Achinta S. McDaniel, on Friday, May 12, 7:30 pm, and Saturday, May 13, 2023, 7:30 pm, in The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater.

 The Plano Symphony Orchestra (PSO) will conclude its 40th Anniversary Season in style at a gala celebration on Saturday, June 10 at 5:30 PM at the Marriott at Legacy Town Center (7121 Bishop Rd, Plano, TX).

In LA they worked with Alain Johannes (Eleven, Mark Lanegan, Queens of the Stone Age) recording most of the vocals at Norm Block’s Happy Ending studios in Silverlake. 59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) have announced a Relaxed Performance of Cassie and the Lights, presented by Patch of Blue in association with New Diorama Theatre and Xinyi Shen for Verse Unbound and Amelia Campbell, which will be held on Saturday June 24 at 2:15 PM. Written and directed by Alex Howarth (he/him; Let the Right One In), Cassie and the Lights will begin previews on June 13 in Theater B with an opening night set for June 17 and running through July 2 as part of 59E59's Brits Off Broadway 2023 Season.

Los Angeles-based Blue13 Dance Company has been performing internationally for over 20 years, with their highly energetic modern dance style inspired by a variety of art forms native to the Indian subcontinent. On May 12-13, Blue 13 will be presenting a selection of five dances at The Wallis in Beverly Hills. I decided to speak with Blue 13's Artistic director, Achinta S. McDaniel (pictured) about her vision for these selections, especially how she plans to invite the audience to participate immersively and plans to address the current hot topics of invisible disability and addiction.
