Principal Guest Conductor David Charles Abell returns to his hometown of Philadelphia for Cole Porter's Broadway: Too Darn Hot, the explosive penultimate performance of The Philly POPS 40th Anniversary Season, April 12-14 at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. 

Starlight Community Theater (SCT) will be presenting The Pajama Game for eleven (11) performances beginning Friday, February 22 and running through Sunday, March 10. This production will mark the seventh show of SCT's 2018-2019 season and is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

BASE Hologram, the leading producer of holographic based live entertainment, in partnership with LA Opera through its LA Opera Off Grand program, presents a special one-night-only event featuring renowned opera sensation Maria Callas.

Cuba sings, dances and lives!  A hot night is in store at the Massey Theatre on Friday, March 8th as Cuba Vibra! by Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba Company takes over the stage.  This performance is a tribute to Cuban musical heritage - a night of pure celebration all rolled into one amazingly immersive performance that will heat up the Massey.

Tonight, FOX will air their third live musical production. Following in the footsteps of Grease and A Christmas Story, the network will be presenting Jonathan Larson's Rent, a rock musical that is loosely based on Giacomo Puccini's 1896 opera, La boheme. The story follows a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in New York City's East Village in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

The Group Rep's Co-Artistic Directors, Larry Eisenberg and Chris Winfield announce the Group Rep's 45th Season (2019) with six eclectic and unique plays: Laundry and Bourbon & Lone Star, two one-act comedies by James McLure, directed by Barbara Brownell (January 25 - March 3),  The Secret of Chimneys, a long lost play by Agatha Christie, directed by Jules Aaron (March 29 - May 5), Avenue Q, the wry, Broadway musical written by Jeff Whitty, Music and Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, directed by Patrick Burke (May 31 - July 7),  Loose Knit, a modern comedy by Theresa Rebeck, directed by L. Flint Esquerra  (August 2 - September 8), Night of the Living Dead, a gripping terror-filled drama based on the George Romero film, adapted by Gus Krieger directed by Drina Durazo (October 4 - November 10), and the beloved farce The Man Who Came to Dinner by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, directed by Bruce Kimmel (December 6, 2019 - January 12, 2020).  The six shows will be performed on the Main Stage, first floor 90 Seat Theatre.

Emmy®Award-winning actress Melissa McCarthy will receive this year's Distinguished Artisan Award at the 6th Annual  Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) celebrating her prolific acting career and the plethora of characters she embraces. McCarthy is the first female artist to receive this award. The black-tie awards gala, honoring both make-up artists and hair stylists outstanding achievements in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater, returns to the NOVO in L.A. Live on Saturday, February 16, 2019.  The announcement was made today by Sue Cabral-Ebert, President of IATSE Local 706.

E! announced today that acclaimed actor, writer, producer and director Melissa McCarthy will be the inaugural recipient of “The People's Icon of 2018” award at “The E! People's Choice Awards.” McCarthy will be honored for her work across film and television including “The Heat,” “The Boss,” “Spy,” Ghostbusters,” “Tammy,” “St. Vincent” and “Bridesmaids,” which she was nominated for a SAG and an Academy Award. On the television side, she has amassed a total of eight Emmy nominations, three of which came from her role as Molly Flynn in the critically acclaimed series “Mike and Molly” garnering one win in 2011 for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series,” and her portrayal of Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on “Saturday Night Live” earning her second Emmy win for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2017. Fresh off the heels of last week's release of “Ain't Shit,” and her performance with Kendrick Lamar during Philly's Made In America festival, Bri Steves is back with a new track, “Late Night” produced by Charlie Heat. Bri also released the companion video for “Late Night” today via a premiere with Complex, declaring the video as “something completely different, but totally still in the unique Bri Steves wheelhouse.” Additionally, it was just announced that Bri will join H.E.R. as direct support on the “I Used To Know Her” U.S. tour – dates below.
