Robert Galinsky's celebrated solo show The Bench, has received praise in both NYC and LA with extended sold out runs over the past three years. Last year STAGE Network filmed The Bench, directed by Tyler Milliron. On Saturday, December 21 Galinsky will host a benefit screening of his film to benefit City Kids. The event will be held at The East Village Playhouse (340 East 6th Street), doors will open at 6:30 and the screening will begin at 7 PM. Inspired by Charles Spearin's Juno award winning album, The Happiness Project and the work of Studs Terkel and Anna Deavere Smith, KARIE RICHARDS presents THE GHOST PROJECT. This is an engaging documentary theatre solo production based on a series of verbatim monologues crafted from the interviews of thirteen individuals who have experienced mysterious and ghostly encounters. THE GHOST PROJECT is written and performed by KARIE RICHARDS, with original direction by Jeff Culbert, original music by John Sheard, and production design by Glenn Davidson. On stage from January 21 to January 26 at The Theatre Centre.

Continuing its 2019-2020 season, JCC's CenterStage theatre brings us Raging Skillet, a memoir-turned-play making its regional debut that that tells the story of a rule-breaker and boundary-pusher, a rebellious lesbian Jewish chef whose story is told through food and the ghost of her long-dead mother.

Following the successful run of A Small Fire, with Bebe Neuwirth, Philadelphia Theatre Company next focuses on the season selection process. The company welcomes audiences to its annual See & Be Scene, a one-night only staged-reading showcase, on Monday, December 2 at 7:00 pm. Now in its third year, Producing Artistic Director Paige Price is looking to add a selection of comedies and musicals into the mix. Eight works will be showcased.

Writers in Performance is a 12-week writing and performance workshop hosted by BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, culminating in two public presentations.  Throughout the course of the workshop, talented actors, playwrights, poets and storytellers have explored writing exercises, theater games, improvisation, movement techniques, and ensemble work in a safe, creative environment. The first wave of casting has been announced for Jonathan Harvey's Our Lady of Blundellsands, as the Everyman & Playhouse announce their full 2020 spring summer season filled with new works, big titles, family fun and re-imagined stories.

A signalman is haunted by a mysterious figure standing at the mouth of a train tunnel. He's sure it's a warning - but what is it warning against? The Signalman was Charles Dickens' final completed work, written after the writer himself had survived a train crash. This adaptation by Martin Malcolm ('Warped' - VAULT Festival 2019) remains faithful to the original text but also incorporates other aspects of Dickens' writing, including the introduction of Joe the crossing sweeper, who listens as the signalman's tale unfolds.

No.11 Productions is pleased to announce they will be transferring their annual holiday party retelling of Dickens' classic story to Brooklyn's acclaimed Irondale Center. The one-night-only performance is set for Monday, December 16th, 2019 at 7:30pm and will feature an afterparty concert by the Nat Osborn Band.
