Greenway Arts Alliance, in association with Two Sisters Media, presents the world premiere of Who Are You, written and performed by Shareen Mitchell, beginning May 13, 2022, with Kate Jopson directing this one-woman show. Shareen made some time to answer a few of my queries into her show, her fashion background and Two Sisters Media.

Today, ahead of the Friday, May 6th release of new album Peacock Pools via ATO Records, Pink Mountaintops pays homage to musical idol Nikki Sudden on the harmony-heavy and sweetly hedonistic new single “ Nikki Go Sudden ,” serenading the late Swell Maps and Jacobites  singer/guitarist with a gorgeous convergence of twisted nursery rhyme and elegantly debauched mythmaking (e.g., “Hush baby-baby, now don’t you cry/Mama’s gonna buy you some collision time”). “I wrote that song just after Nikki Sudden died, a tribute to a fallen-rogue unsung hero who existed in his own weird outsider world,” shares Pink Mountaintops' Stephen McBean .

The Green Room 42 has announced their March line-up for in-person performances. Located inside YOTEL Times Square (570 Tenth Avenue, Fourth Floor), The Green Room 42 is Broadway's newest and most spacious cabaret club.

I fell in love with Jersey Boys when I discovered the cast recording back in 2006. That recording turned me into a fan of the group The Four Seasons which I honestly didn't know before this. Granted I knew some of the songs, but I found it fascinating that also 'my elders' didn't really know the group either. Later I learned that they never toured outside the United states. That could be a reason why the band went under the radar. I saw the musical twice in London and once in Las Vegas although my jetlag almost killed that experience. I had to drink four Red Bulls to stay awake. Luckily I did not need any Red Bull during the Norwegian premiere of this show. The show itself was energy booster enough for me.

The band will perform three intimate shows in Oxford, MS, Athens, GA, and St Petersburg, FL, surrounding their performance at Pilgrimage Fest in Tennessee.

The band plays “Crawling Kingsnake” & “Going Down South” on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight. Their performances were filmed in Mississippi at Jimmy Duck Holmes’ Blue Front Café, which is the oldest active juke joint in America.

The album takes its name from William Eggleston’s iconic Mississippi photograph that is on its cover.
