For the sixth year, The Museum at Bethel Woods will take part in Blue Star Museums, a program which provides free admission to our nation's active-duty military personnel and their families this summer. The 2019 program will begin earlier than in past years, launching on Saturday, May 18, 2019, Armed Forces Day, and ending on Monday, September 2, 2019, Labor Day.

Craft Latino proudly pays tribute today to one of Mexico's greatest stars, Antonio Aguilar, on what would have been his 100th birthday, with the release ofAntonio Aguilar Centenario: Colección de la Familia—a 100-song playlist curated by his sonPepe Aguilar and family. The New York City Gay Men's Chorus(NYCGMC) commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, presenting the New York premiere of Quiet No More: A Choral Celebration of Stonewall50, a new choral suite written by a diverse group of LGBTQ composers, including Tony nominated singer/songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway, director of Broadway Inspirational Voices Michael McElroy, writer and producer on Golden Globe -nominated TV series Pose Our Lady J, musical theater composers Julian Hornik and Mike Shaieb, and Artistic Director of One Voice Chorus Jane Ramseyer Miller. The performance will directly coincide with when the Stonewall riots began, fifty years prior.

Odyssey Theatre Ensemble has announced "Circa'69!" an 18-month retrospective beginning in June, 2019 that will celebrate its founding, 50 years ago, by artistic director Ron Sossi, who has remained steadily at the helm since the company's first production in 1969.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Broadway veteran Elizabeth Josephine 'Jo' Sullivan Loesser passed away yesterday, April 28, from heart failure in her New York City Home. She was 91 years old.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the landmark designation of the Greenwich Village Historic District on April 29, 1969, Village Preservation released an online map and tour of the Greenwich Village Historic District (here). Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - the nonprofit cultural arts organization at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival-today announced that JOHN FOGERTY will join the center's Season of Song and Celebration with a show mirrored after Creedence Clearwater Revival's historic set at Woodstock exactly 50 years later. Fogerty's performance will close out Anniversary Weekend on Sunday, August 18th.

One of Leonard Bernstein's most iconic compositions will be paired with the legendary Ludwig van Beethoven's most celebrated work in "Bernstein and Beethoven: Part I" on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. As a continued celebration of the Leonard Bernstein Centennial, world-renowned pianist Michael Brown will join Philharmonic Music Director and Conductor Piotr Gajewski and the National Philharmonic in performing Bernstein's Symphony No. 2 ("The Age of Anxiety"), a genre-defying work that combines elements of symphony, concerto, and program music and is inspired by the dramatic poem The Age of Anxiety by W.H. Auden. After an intermission, Gajewski will lead the Philharmonic in Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67. This timeless work is one of the most performed, recorded, adapted, and abused of all the works in Beethoven's canonical repertoire. A pre-concert lecture will take place between 6:45-7:15 p.m. From 7-7:30 p.m., families can explore orchestral instruments with Philharmonic musicians. Following a triumphant first run of his all-new show, "My 50 Year Trip," rock 'n' roll legend and Wynn Las Vegas headliner John Fogerty will return to the stage at Encore Theater for an extended run in fall 2019. Inspired by the 50th anniversary of Woodstock and his iconic hit parade with Creedence Clearwater Revival, "My 50 Year Trip" recreates the sounds and spirit of 1969 in this celebratory six-night engagement, Nov. 6-16. Tickets for all performances will be available for purchase starting Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m. PDT.

The Peabody Board of Jurors revealed today nine Entertainment winners and a Children's winner for programs released in 2018. The honorees include a children's superhero saga focused on empathy; darkly comic immersions into the male and female killer mind; welcomed reformulations and expansions of standup comedy and political entertainment shows; and expansive creativity in a show that might best be described as Afro-surrealism meets Parliament Funkadelic.

Now celebrating its 41st year, the annual Museum Mile Festival takes place rain or shine on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Over 1.5 million people have taken part in this annual celebration since its inception. Festival attendees can walk the Mile on Fifth Avenue between 82nd Street and 105th Street while visiting seven of New York City's finest cultural institutions, which are open free to the public throughout the evening. The Museum Mile Festival's opening ceremony takes place at 5:45pm at El Museo del Barrio, 1230 Fifth Avenue at 105th Street. Traditionally, the Commissioner of Cultural Affairs and other city and state dignitaries open the Festival.

On March 29th, musician Chogyi Lama, grandson of singer-songwriter and guitarist Richie Havens, performed at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival to officially open the nonprofit cultural art organization's Season of Song and Celebration.
