The Broadway League announceS that Alex Brightman, currently starring in Beetlejuice, will host this year's STARS IN THE ALLEY free outdoor concert. Stars in the Alley will take place on Friday, May 10 at 1PM in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets.

The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, welcomes 'Tootsie' star Julie Halston along with 'Torch Song' sensation Michael Urie to announce the nominees for the 2018-19 season today, April 23rd. The nominations were announced this morning by the current stars of Waitress, Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan, at the official announcement event at Sardi's Restaurant, which was streamed live online here at BroadwayWorld.

A new block of tickets has been released for Broadway's King Kong. Now on sale through January 12, 2020, King Kong is playing at the Broadway Theatre where it opened on Thursday, November 8 (previews began October 5, 2018).

The Las Vegas Philharmonic and Music Director Donato Cabrera announced the 2019 2020 concert season today, which will include 11 performances from September 7, 2019 through May 9, 2020 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. The orchestra's 21st season offers an exhilarating mix of Masterworks and Pops concerts that celebrate cherished classical works by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Mozart and Vivaldi in addition to energetic programs including a night of movie music from Danny Elfman and Tim Burton film collaborations, a nod to Opera and Broadway in an all Kurt Weill program plus two distinct holiday concerts including a nostalgic celebration featuring beloved seasonal melodies to an all Baroque program with Handel's Messiah.

Lively McCabe Entertainment Co-President Michael Barra proudly announces a slate of three new stage musicals in partnership with licensing agency Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW) and music powerhouse BMG. These initial three projects, all which will have premiere productions in 2020 (TBA), will feature select music from the BMG catalog, as part of their previously announced partnership with Lively McCabe.

STOMP, the international percussion sensation, will return to Washington, D.C's National Theatre from April 23 - 28, 2019. From its beginnings as a street performance in the UK, STOMP has grown into an international sensation over the past 25 years, having performed in more than 50 countries and in front of more than 24 million people.

The Drama League has announced the twelve stage directors who have been selected as the 2019 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project: NJ Agwuna, Sharifa Elkady, Raz Golden, Chika Ike, Rebecca Marzalek-Kelly, Ismael Lara, Jr., Amanda McRaven, Lindsey Hope Pearlman, Ben Randle, Tai Thompson, Gabriel Torres, and Sophia Watt. They will be publicly introduced to the professional theatre community during the 85th Annual Drama League Awards, which will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). In celebration of the 86th anniversary of the iconic original film of King Kong, the New York City Mayor's Office will recognize the Broadway musical King Kong and its contribution to the culture of New York City by declaring the area outside of the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway at 53rd Street) King Kong Court with a ceremonial street renaming on Wednesday, March 6.

Producers Donna Gigliotti and Glenn Weiss today announced 11 key members of the production team for the 91st Oscars, which will air live on Sunday, Feb. 24, on ABC. It was previously announced that Weiss would be returning as director for his fourth consecutive year, while sharing producing duties with Gigliotti for the first time.
