Alex Brightman Set to Host STARS IN THE ALLEY

The Broadway League announceS that Alex Brightman, currently starring in Beetlejuice, will host this year's STARS IN THE ALLEY free outdoor concert. Stars in the Alley will take place on Friday, May 10 at 1PM in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets.

While Alex Brightman hosts this year's festivities on stage in Shubert Alley, Michael James Scott, currently starring as Genie in Aladdin, will serve as backstage host. He will be on hand to cover the event live on Instagram (@Broadway), bringing fans a unique perspective on all that's happening backstage at this year's concert.

Alex Brightman currently stars in the title role in Beetlejuice on Broadway; received a 2016 Tony nomination for his uproarious role as Dewey in Broadway's School of Rock. His other Broadway credits include Big Fish, Matilda, Wicked and Glory Days. As a writer, he has penned Make Me Bad(music & lyrics by Drew Gasparini), Everything In Its Place: The Life and Slimes of Marc Summers, and The Whipping Boy (music & co-lyrics by Drew Gasparini), an upcoming musical adaptation of the award-winning novel.

Stars in the Alley, produced by The Broadway League and sponsored by United Airlines, is a celebration of the end of the 2018-2019 Broadway season and adds to the festivities leading up to the 2019 Tony Awards on June 9, 2019. The event will consist of performances from over 20 musicals, including shows from this past season as well as numbers from current long-running shows, all accompanied by a 12-piece live orchestra.
