Redhouse continues its stellar 2019 season with the Tony Award-Winning play, God of Carnage co-starring two Broadway veterans Jeremy Kushnier and Jennifer Cody who both will make their Redhouse MainStage debuts. The show, will be directed by Redhouse Artistic Director, Tony Nominated actor and Director Hunter Foster, who is coming off his directorial debut at Redhouse of the smash hit RENT. 'This show portrays a very realistic and sometimes uncomfortable view of parenting and manages to do it in a very fast-paced and comedic way'. The show opened at Redhouse November 7th with performances running through November 17th.

Cyrille Aimee: A Sondheim Adventure, Brandon Goldberg Trio, Sheila Jordan Birthday Celebration and more announced for the week of November 18-November 24 at Birdland Jazz Club.

The Marriott Theatre presents Lionel Bart's OLIVER!, which is now running through Sunday, December 29th. The Tony Award-winning musical based on the classic Charles Dickens novel, Oliver Twist, is directed by eight-time Jeff Award winner for Outstanding Direction, Nick Bowling, with musical direction by Jeff Award winner Ryan T. Nelson and choreography by Jeff Award winner Brenda Didier.

Following a highly successful run at the King's Theatre in Glasgow in February 2018, the Olivier, Tony and Grammy award-winning BEAUTIFUL - THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL will return to the city next year.

A Christmas Carol is now in previews on Broadway! The holiday masterpiece, A Christmas Carol, comes to Broadway this holiday season for eight weeks only following critically acclaimed runs at London's Old Vic. Two visionary talents, playwright Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and director Matthew Warchus (Matilda), offer a magical new interpretation of Charles Dickens' classic story, starring Campbell Scott ('House of Cards,' Dying Young) as Ebenezer Scrooge. Beginning previews on Thursday, November 7 at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street), with the opening night set for Wednesday, November 20, A Christmas Carol will play a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, January 5, 2020 only.

A Christmas Carol, Alliance Theatre's annual holiday production, returns for its 30th season, November 16 - December 24, 2019. After two seasons at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, the Alliance's production will return home to the newly renovated Coca-Cola Stage at Alliance Theatre on the campus of the Woodruff Arts Center.

Nominees for the 30th Annual LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards were announced on Tuesday, November 5 on at This Stage [ThisStage.la]. The ceremony will take place Monday, January 13, 2020 at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Among the nominees are director Michael Arden and actor Jefferson Mays for A Christmas Carol, and Tina star Daniel J. Watts.

Launching Thursday night was Disenchanted at Jaeb Theatre, a fabulous, bawdy, vaudevillian, royal cabaret featuring ten disillusioned princesses revealing what truly happens after happily-ever-after. The ladies from a?oeSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs,a?? a?oeCinderella,a?? a?oeSleeping Beauty,a?? a?oeBeauty and the Beast,a?? a?oeMulan,a?? a?oeThe Little Mermaid,a?? a?oePocahontas,a?? a?oeThe Princess Who Kissed the Frog,a?? a?oeRapunzel,a?? and a?oeAladdin,a?? took on the man who commercialized and exploited their characters. What better way to bring the Baldwinsville Theatre Guild's season to a close than with an evening of Disney classics. The delightful cabaret took place for a one night only performance at the lovely and cozy Mohegan Manor, a restaurant and banquet event facility in the heart of Baldwinsville, New York. Colin Keating (director) and Erin Sills (Assistant Director) brought a dynamic cast together to showcase some familiar and favorite Disney songs.

Internationally acclaimed choreographer and former Artistic Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB), David Bintley CBE has today become Vice President of bbodance. Bintley agreed to join the 90-year-old organisation after watching bbodance students perform at their biggest annual event, Dance Days. 'After that performance, I'm going to have to say yes,' he stated at the time.

Center Theatre Group has announced the four new schools that have been selected to participate in the 2019-2020 Disney Musicals in Schools program. The program is an initiative developed by Disney Theatrical Group to create sustainable theatre programs in under-resourced elementary schools. The four schools are a part of Los Angeles County. The four schools include: Dr. Owen Lloyd Knox Elementary (LAUSD), Eastman Avenue Elementary (LAUSD), Euclid Avenue Elementary (LAUSD) and San Gabriel Avenue Elementary (LAUSD).

When it comes to theatre and Disney fans alike, the stage production of Beauty and the Beast is a staple. For many a performer, the chance to personify the characters we've grown up with is a lifelong dream, envisioning our selves dawning the gown, the fur and claws, or not so reluctantly beating on our friends. When shows like these come to life, patrons are drawn to the nostalgia and get the chance to leave with the feeling of seeing it fresh and new. This is all due to amazing casts and crews, committed to giving us the magic that we the theatre-goers deserve to the best of their abilities, as they would do with any other show. Zao Theatre's production of Beauty and the Beast brought the nostalgia, along with adding a few fresh touches that kept audience members like myself feeling as if it were our first time seeing the classic. As well, I had the opportunity to get a peek into the process through my interview with Zao's very own Gaston, Zac Bushman.
