Theatre By The Sea celebrates the arrival of summer with its magnificent production of “Waitress,” a romantic musical comedy about problematic relationships, second chances, and the unyielding power of friendship.

Acclaimed director Mark Brokaw, whose visionary work spanned Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theaters across the United States and abroad, has passed away after a battle with cancer. 

The Gilded Age is back for Season 3, and with it, a new and returning crop of Broadway talent. The New York-based costume drama is known for its vast array of theater actors, utilizing a total of 163 across its three seasons. Today’s subject Carolee Carmello is a performer of epic proportions to be sure. Her career has thus far included turns on Broadway, national tours, regional theatres, and on several recordings. Currently she is playing the title role in the national tour of the Tony Award winning musical Kimberly Akimbo. The tour will be at the National Theatre from May 20th through June 1st.

The new musical Goddess can currently be seen in its New York premiere production at the Public Theater on Lafayette Street. Directed by the Public’s associate artistic director and resident director Saheem Ali, who is currently Tony Award-nominated for directing Buena Vista Social Club, Goddess is playing at the Public’s largest space by capacity, the Newman Theatre.
