Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival has announced the complete principal casts, creative teams, and events planned for the previously announced summer season.

Opening on May 11th, the double program will be musically directed by Ira Levin, who heads the Orchestra do Thetro Sao Pedro and directed by Alexandre Dal Farra. The recital on May 12, Friday, will be broadcast for free on the YouTube channel of Theatro Sao Pedro.

The most famous criminal love story of all time, arrives on Brazilian stages for the first time with production of musical Bonnie & Clyde. Starring Eline Porto, Beto Sargentelli, Adriana Del Claro, Claudio Lins and a great cast, the production opens together with the successful West End staging, has a sensorial proposal and an original Ford - V8.

The monologue opens at Teatro Paiol in the “1st Festival of Monologues”. The play narrates a cut in Carmen Miranda’s life, when, already consecrated as one of the main Brazilian personalities in the United States, she returned for a show in Brazil, booed for supposedly having “sold herself to the American government”.

Lyrical season will have 11 titles, including the premiere of O Machete, by Mehmari. Throughout 2023, will be presented of Il Seraglio, by Mozart, Cinderella, by Viardot, The Cunning Little Vixen, by Janácek, Dido and Eneas, by Purcell, among others. The program also includes ballet shows, symphonic and chamber music concerts.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation announced that the 2022 Joe A. Callaway Awards will be awarded to Saheem Ali for excellence in directing for Fat Ham (The Public Theater) and Josh Prince for excellence in choreography for Trevor: the Musical (Stage 42).

Bucks County Playhouse’s production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber–Tim Rice musical “Evita” continues through October 30.
