Amelie captured our hearts in the five-time Academy Award-nominated film. Now she comes to the stage in an inventive and captivating new musical directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) and penned by Craig Lucas (An American in Paris and Prelude to a Kiss), with a stirring score by Daniel Messe (of the acclaimed band Hem) and lyrics by Nathan Tysen (The Burnt Part Boys) and Messe. The Orchard Project Announces Participants In New Episodic Lab For TV Writers

The Orchard Project, a nationally renowned performance laboratory, today announced the six original, independent pilots selected to participate in its first annual Episodic Lab. More than 430 artists applied to the inaugural year of the Episodic Lab, which will help writers develop television and episodic content, working with accomplished showrunners and producers as mentors. The pioneer artists include playwrights, cartoonist, and screenwriters — and they are working on a diverse set of pilots, focusing on everything from the world of rap to the world of celebrity cruises. It's a live reading of two, brand new, one-act plays- a celebration of emerging, local playwrights and an artistic investigation into the intersection and interaction of Vancouver's privileged and underprivileged citizens. This year's playwrights, Sabrina Auclair and Brahm Taylor hit close to home. Spain's biggest electronic music festival Dreambeach has now revealed the final names for its sixth edition, taking place on August 8-12th. With a selection of the biggest names in electronic music spread across four jam-packed days on the Almerian coastline boasting stunning scenery, the unique atmosphere of a summer festival in the middle of a deserted beach, 4 stages (plus one on the camping site) hosting over 150,000 ravers and the likes of Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos, Coone, Will Sparks, and Australian twins NERVO completing the festival's line-up.
