Runaway Stage Presents SLEEPING BEAUTY, 11/6-20
The story recounts a childless king and queen who are finally blessed with a child. At the baby's christening, all the fairies are invited to bestow gifts upon the little princess. However, the Queen of the fairies does not receive an invitation and gatecrashes the event, cursing the princess to a premature death from a spindle-prick. The good fairies remedy the curse by changing a few details: the princess won't die, only sleep until woken by the kiss of a true Prince. Will true love win?
Multiple Elly Award winning Director and Writer, Lillian Baxter entertains us again with her classic (yet slightly fractured) storybook tale of Sleeping Beauty.
Sleeping Beauty performs Saturdays at 12 noon and 2 p.m., November 6, 13 & 20, 2010.
