And like filling that aforementioned iPod, trying to fill a musical with all of those huge hits is also a tall order, one that Motown: The Musical, now playing at Providence Performing Arts Center, accomplishes with a high level of success.

Artists' Exchange Announces Family Performance Series Offerings

The holidays are here and the "Family Performance Series," Artists' Exchange's newest family-friendly programming, is the perfect activity to entertain all of your family members for little to no cost.  Series performances began in September and will run through May 2016, with shows on Saturday mornings from 11:00am-12:00pm at Theatre 82 & Cafe, located at 82 Rolfe Square in Cranston.  Admission is "Pay What You Can" with a suggested donation of $5.00 per person.

BWW Review: Wilbury Theatre Group's Uneven CAIN + ABEL

CAIN + ABEL, the Wilbury Theatre's new production by Resident Playwright Ben Jolivet re-examines the familiar bible story of the two brothers, the role of god, legacy and relationships in a play that blends levity, philosophy and tragedy.  The concept of the play is interesting and the story, which everyone already knows the ending of, is well punctuated with subtle jokes and moments of levity.  Unfortunately, the execution leaves the play both underwhelming and over the top.

During a recent rehearsal, Community College of Rhode Island Associate Professor Ted Clement was bouncing around in the Bobby Hackett Theater, explaining his vision for blocking to the cast of the upcoming CCRI Players musical, 'The Rocky Horror Show.' Antonio DiPrete, playing Dr. Frank N. Furter, stood in front, his hip jutting out, trying his best to be comfortable. DiPrete was dressed for a pickup basketball game, but with stiletto heels.

Trinity Repertory Company announces dates for the third annual sensory-friendly performance, as well as American Sign Language interpretation and Open Caption performances of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens and with original music by Richard Cumming. An Open Captioned performance will be offered on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00PM. The sensory-friendly adaptation of the show will be held Saturday, November 14 at 12:00PM, with American Sign Language interpretation available during the performance.
