The Contemporary Theater Company is known for its focus on the community and local talent. Until March 5, the theater presents its fourth annual Springboard Season, which is comprised of one or two night events by community and ensemble members.

There is something for everyone in this season that promotes The Contemporary Theater Company's goal of facilitating new, exciting work by local artists and bringing the arts to the community. This unique season allows artists to show their work to an audience and get feedback on pieces that they are developing.

"As a theater-maker, the opportunity to take risks and try something new is difficult to come by," says Communications Director Maggie Cady. "We encourage people to do projects that they are passionate about!"

The season will include everything from a series of staged readings to full productions to a concert of love songs and even a magic show! Personal stories are told weekly at Story on Main, which is a free event that has been a fixture of the Springboard Season for three years.

A Membership at the theater includes tickets to the Springboard Season, encouraging members to come see these works in progress and new projects.

The Springboard Season is at The Contemporary Theater at 327 Main Street in Downtown Wakefield. Performances are every Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. through March 23.
