Review: SIX at Alte Oper, Frankfurt And On Tour In Germany

Germany: André Böke • June 18, 2026

Divorced. Beheaded. LIVE! The global musical hit Six is already embarking on its second German tour, and the Queens once again proclaim their Herstory with plenty of pep, power and emotion: fans can look forward to the full SIXperience without compromise.

Review: SIX THE MUSICAL at Ordway Center For The Performing Arts

Minneapolis / St. Paul: Jared Fessler • June 18, 2026

The hit musical has arrived at the Ordway in Saint Paul through June 28, and from the moment the queens step onstage, the show feels more like a pop concert than a traditional musical. The audience was clapping, laughing, and cheering throughout the performance, and by the end many people were on their feet.

Review: MRS. DOUBTFIRE at BJCC

Review: MRS. DOUBTFIRE at BJCC

Birmingham: Cade Lott • June 18, 2026

Taking a beloved 90s movie and turning it into a Broadway musical is a tall order. You're competing with nostalgia, a legendary film performance, and the simple fact that what works on a movie screen doesn't always translate to the stage. Tuesday night, the North American tour of Mrs. Doubtfire opened at the BJCC Concert Hall to tackle that challenge, closing out the Broadway in Birmingham season.

Review: JEEVES AND WOOSTER IN PERFECT NONSENSE at Shaw Festival

Toronto: Michael Rabice • June 18, 2026

That  belovedly droll English valet of old, Jeeves, has resurfaced to the delight of everyone in the the charming play JEEVES AND WOOSTER IN PERFECT NONSENSE now onstage at The Shaw Festival. After the recent demolition of the Royal George Theatre in Niagara on the Lake Ontario, the Shaw Festival has set up stage yet again in the home if it's birth, the Court House Theatre. The small confines seemed tailor made for the deliciously silly antics of P.G. Wodehouse's most famous characters.

Review: BEATLES ON BOARD at Tschauner Bühne

Austria: Martin Ganeider • June 18, 2026

As one of Europe’s famous impromptu theaters with regular performances, the Tschauner Bühne is known far beyond the borders of Ottakring. The 2026 season kicks off with a new CEO. Jürgen Partaj takes over from Monika Erb, who is looking back on ten very successful years. Huge steps to fill for the new man in the lead. On stage, the season opens with a Musical Comedy—or is it a Comedy Musical?

Review: XANADU at West Valley Arts is a Neon Dream

Utah: Tyler Hinton • June 18, 2026

XANADU at West Valley Arts is a glittering, campy, neon dream of a show that will have you smiling ear to ear from start to finish. XANADU is rarely produced, and in a world that needs more feel-good escapes, this production is just the ticket.

Review: WATER FOR ELEPHANTS at The Overture Center

Review: WATER FOR ELEPHANTS at The Overture Center

Madison: Scott Rawson • June 17, 2026

I truly enjoyed Water for Elephants far more than I thought I would. I came to the theater fearing the puppetry of the elephant would over shadow the actors. While it was spectacular, it did not over shadow the actors and for that I am grateful. And in an effort of full disclosure, admittedly, I also really hate the circus. No need to judge, just offering a little vulnerability here. Still, in spite of that I enjoyed the performance a great deal.

Review: SUFFS at The National Theatre

Review: SUFFS at The National Theatre

Washington, DC: Aidan O'Connor • June 17, 2026

The women’s suffrage movement in the United States spanned 72 years, finally concluding in 1920 when women gained the right to vote. Thousands of women lended their lives to the cause with a hope for the future, that subsequent generations would be inspired by the suffragists. Yet, their names were consistently left out of history books. Until Shaina Taub’s Suffs. Suffs at The National Theatre revives the legacy of luminaries like Alice Paul and Ida B. Wells through a musical journey that cements the suffragists’ rightful place in history.

Review: 10 DAYS IN A MADHOUSE at Bluma Appel Theatre: St. Lawrence Centre For The Arts

Toronto: Keira Grant • June 17, 2026

Every aspect of 10 Days in a Madhouse, directed by Joanna Settle, exemplified why opera has the power to bring stories to life in ways that no other genre can. Score, libretto, set, costumes, lighting, and vocal and orchestral performances of the highest quality mingled into something that was more than the sum of its parts, rendering a haunting true story with more nuance and pathos than theatre, film, or literature alone could have achieved.

Review: SEARED at Austin Playhouse

Austin: Sabrina Wallace • June 17, 2026

Austin Playhouse’s Seared, directed by Lara Toner Haddock, serves up a grounded, well-paced production with strong ensemble work and a working kitchen that adds real texture. The staging feels alive, even when Theresa Rebeck’s script leans preachy and predictable.

Review: ROOTED Grows Beyond Its Premise at Live Theatre Workshop

Phoenix: Robert Encila-Celdran • June 17, 2026

The crowd itself remains unseen, but a growing cult hangs over nearly every scene, transforming Emery’s private sanctuary into something far more complicated. Michael Zimmerman's sound design gives the invisible crowd a character of its own, a foreboding entity lurking just behind the treeline. The production's real challenge lies in sustaining the sense of a growing
