THE ZERO HOUR to Open Off the Wall Productions Season on October 25

While Off The Wall Theater was busy, Off the Wall Productions has been on hiatus. They have just announced that they will open their season on Oct. 25, 2013 with 'The Zero Hour' , a play written by Madeleine George (Precious Little, City Theatre 2011) as a member of 13P Playwrights Collective.

Pittsburgh Public Theater announces the Shakespeare Nation Project, with Honorary Chair Gillian Jacobs, co-star of NBC's 'Community' and formerShakespeare Monologue & Scene Contest competitor. To celebrate the 20thanniversary of the competition, Pittsburgh Public Theater wants to hear from past Shakespeare Contest participants, many of whom are now scattered across the country. Along with Gillian's, your comments will be compiled into a commemorative program book that will include photographs from the Shakespeare Contest archive. The program will be distributed at this year's Showcase of Finalists, on February 17, 2014 at the O'Reilly Theater, Pittsburgh Public Theater's home in the heart of Downtown's Cultural District. The comments will also be available online at ppt.org.

The Phoenix, the new theatre company founded by long-time PICT artistic director and founder Andrew Paul and Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre founder and former director of theatre initiatives at the August Wilson Center, Mark Clayton Southers, will debut with a four week run of Joe Penhall's provocative, caustically funny, Olivier Award-winning play Blue/Orange. The production will star acclaimed actors David Whalen, Sam Tsoutsouvas, and newcomer Rico Parker, with direction by Andrew Paul and scenic design by Mark Clayton Southers. Blue/Orange, sponsored by founding Phoenix Board Member and noted arts philanthropist Richard E. Rauh, plays November 1-23, 2013 at the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre, 937 Liberty Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh.
