Tickets to GHOST THE MUSICAL at Benedum Center on Sale 11/15

The supernatural power of love is taking Pittsburgh by storm as the new Broadway and West End musical Ghost The Musical, adapted from the Academy Award-winning film, will premiere in Pittsburgh from Tuesday, December 31, 2013 through Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Heinz Hall. Ghost The Musical is part of the PNC Broadway Across America-Pittsburgh series presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Broadway Across America and Pittsburgh Symphony. Single ticket prices start at $20 and go on sale to the general public on Friday, November 15, 2013, at 9:00 a.m.

The Company of Pittsburgh concludes its premiere season with the Tony Award-nominated musical [title of show]. Building off the momentum of its critically acclaimed production of Man of La Mancha, The Company takes its turn at deconstructing this quirky, heartfelt musical. The production opens tonight, November 7th at 7:30 pm and runs through November 16th, at the Grey Box Theater in Pittsburgh. It is directed by Associate Artistic Director Nick B. Mitchell, who directed The Company's debut production of The Last Five Years last November.

Pittsburgh CLO has announced that the world premiere of Judge Jackie Justice - A New Musical Comedy will debut at the CLO Cabaret Theater on January 30 and will run through April 27. CMU graduates Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond are writing the musical, commissioned for the CLO's Cabaret Theater with dramaturgy by Mary Jane Brennan. The show is conceived and will be directed by Pittsburgh CLO Executive Producer Van Kaplan with choreography by Kiesha Lalama and musical direction by Michael Moricz.

Musical Theatre Artists of Pittsburgh (MTAP) has been established to foster collaboration between musical theatre artists in the Pittsburgh region, and to create opportunities for the development, presentation, and production of new musical theatre. Initiated by Erik Schark, under the guidance and advice of Stephanie Riso - co-founder of Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre currently in its 17th season, and Cabaret Pittsburgh which operated 2004-2008, the group is now led by Stephanie Riso with managing leadership by Jeanne Drennan and the advisory role now filled by Steve Cuden, author of the new book Beating Broadway: How to Create Stories for Musicals That Get Standing Ovations.

The Phoenix, the New Theatre Company founded by long-time PICT artistic director and founder Andrew Paul and Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre founder and former director of theatre initiatives at the August Wilson Center, Mark Clayton Southers, will debut with a four week run of Joe Penhall's provocative, caustically funny, Olivier Award-winning play Blue/Orange. The production will star acclaimed actors David Whalen, Sam Tsoutsouvas, and newcomer Rico Parker, with direction by Andrew Paul and scenic design by Mark Clayton Southers. Blue/Orange, sponsored by founding Phoenix Board Member and noted arts philanthropist Richard E.
