Following two successful years on the road, the National Tour of THE WIZARD OF OZ proudly launches the third year of its tour across North America. The beloved classic family musical will be brought to life on stages in more than 70 cities across the United States and Canada this season, from Atlanta to Calgary and San Diego.
The National Tour of THE WIZARD OF OZ, the show the New York Times calls a "Lavish stage production," with "colorful costumes, witty choreography, and cool lighting," will open on November 20, 2010 in York, Pa. and then embark on a six-month tour.This live musical celebration of the iconic 1939 MGM film allows theatergoers to journey back to simpler times as Dorothy, Toto and their friends travel down the Yellow Brick Road to the magical Land of Oz. Patrons will know they're not in Kansas anymore from the moment the tornado touches down and transports them over the rainbow in this timeless production, featuring the classic songs, as composed by Harold Arlen, "Over the Rainbow," "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" and "If I Only Had A Brain," along with the beloved characters, THE WIZARD OF OZ will have the entire family captivated as they travel down the yellow brick road for an unforgettable evening at the theater.
