The Bob the BuilderTM LIVE! Spud's Big Mess performances scheduled at ASU Gammage for Sunday, March 8 have been cancelled. ASU Gammage apologizes for any inconvenience. A full refund will be issued to all patrons who have purchased tickets and should contact the ASU Gammage Box Office at 480.965.3434 to make arrangements. Tickets purchased by credit card will automatically be refunded. If not purchased by credit card you will need to return your tickets to where you purchased them.

Phoenix Theatre will open an all new production of the epic, musical masterpiece Les Mis?rables on February 18, bringing the audience closer to the searing story, and to the barricade, than ever before. It will run through March 22, 2009. Phoenix Theatre is one of only a few professional regional theatres in the country to have been chosen to produce this powerful musical. Phoenix Theatre's production has been produced in collaboration with Arkansas Repertory Theatre.

Beginning in January, more than 80 students from Orangewood School from the Washington Elementary School District in Phoenix have participated in an intensive eight-week curriculum based program called 'Kaleidoscope' presented by ASU Gammage, one of the leading performing arts presenters in the country. The program will culminate on Saturday, January 31 as the students will have a chance to see Disney's THE LION KING and have the exclusive opportunity to meet the cast. Since 1994, Kaleidoscope -a nationally recognized and awarded program - has been the only program of its kind in Arizona and nationally that educates and exposes students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience live theater.

RENT Starring Pascal, Rapp, Stewart Comes To ASU Gammage

Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart will reprise the roles they originated on Broadway in RENT, The Broadway Tour, which comes to Tempe's ASU Gammage, March 17-22, 2009. Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart originated the roles of Roger Davis, Mark Cohen and 'Seasons of Love' soloist, respectively, at New York Theatre Workshop and on Broadway. Justin Johnston (Angel), Michael McElroy (Collins) - who are also in the touring show -and Stewart were all members of the final company of RENT which played its last performance on Broadway September 7, 2008. Adam Pascal received Obie and Theatre World awards and Tony and Drama Desk nominations for best actor for RENT. On Broadway he also originated the role of Radames in the hit musical Aida and starred as the Emcee in the long-running revival of Cabaret. His film credits include Rent, School of Rock, SLC Punk!, Temptation and Goyband. An actor since the age of six, Anthony Rapp has appeared on Broadway in Precious Sons (Outer Critics Circle Award), Six Degrees of Separation, and the revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. His films include Adventures in Babysitting, School Ties, Dazed and Confused, Six Degrees of Separation, David Searching, Man of the Century, Road Trip, A Beautiful Mind, Open House, Winter Passing, Danny Roane: First Time Director and Scaring the Fish. His book, Without You: a Memoir of Love, Loss, and the Musical Rent, about his experiences on and offstage, was published in 2006 by Simon & Schuster and became a national bestseller.

Pace University's Pace New Musicals Program, now in it's third year, is a workshop initiative that offers students the invaluable opportunity take part in the developmental process of new material with up-and coming writers. In the past few months, the program received 42 submissions for consideration, out of which one new work was selected to be developed by Pace. This year, Pace New Musicals proudly presents the world premiere reading of Darling, a new musical with music and lyrics by Ryan Scott Oliver and a book by B.T. Ryback.

Arizona Broadway Theatre continues its fourth season with the Irving Berlin classic Annie Get Your Gun, which opens on January 9 and continues through February 15, 2009. ABT's Executive Producer and co-founder, Kiel Klaphake, makes his ABT stage debut playing the role of Frank Butler, Annie Oakley's main competition and love interest. Klaphake will be joined on stage by Jillian Nyhan Zygo in the title role of Annie Oakley.

Arizona-based actress Susan Claassen, who completed a highly successful engagement on London's West End this summer as legendary Hollywood designer Edith Head in 'A CONVERSATION WITH EDITH HEAD', recently began an intermittent US tour which will bring her to Arizona and California. (The month-long engagement at London's new Leicester Square Theatre was preceded by a sold out run at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.)
