Arizona Theatre Company's 2009 Season: KING HENRY V Begins Performances 3/26

King Henry V will be performed in Phoenix from March 26 thru 29, 2009 and in Phoenix from April 2 to 5, 2009. Young, restless and ambitious, Henry V inherits a troubled crown and seeks to secure his position at home by launching a hasty invasion of France. The charismatic warrior King?s aggressive pursuit of the French crown earns him iconic status, uniting England and France and briefly banishing the civil strife that will long outlive him. This Shakespearean epic expertly balances the thrilling heroics of battle with the painful and complex reactions of men who are sometimes unsure of the justice of their cause.

25 Female Inmates Participate In ASU's Journey Home 3/28

On March 28 from 6 to 7 p.m., 25 incarcerated women, ages 18 to 50 from Estrella Jail will participate in ASU Gammage's Journey Home Program. Journey Home is an arts residency program designed to enable incarcerated women to discover a personal sense of constructive identity through performance, visual arts, creative writing and storytelling.

Arizona Theatre Company is partnering with Quadna Incorporated of Phoenix to bring Teach for America corps members and 600 of their students to The Acting Company/Guthrie Theater production of King Henry V on Thursday, March 26 at 10 AM. King Henry V is presented by Arizona Theatre Company at the Herberger Theater Center in downtown Phoenix for five performances only, March 26-29.

Seats in the front two rows of the orchestra will be made available for $20 for every performance of RENT, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony? Award-winning musical, at ASU Gammage, March 17-22. The $20 tickets go on sale at the ASU Gammage Box Office, on the day of performance only, two hours prior to the show and are available to anyone, cash only, with a limit of two tickets per person. No parking will be available in the ASU Gammage parking lot.
RENT Starring Pascal, Rapp, Stewart Comes To ASU Gammage

Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart will reprise the roles they originated on Broadway in RENT, The Broadway Tour, which comes to Tempe's ASU Gammage, March 17-22, 2009. Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart originated the roles of Roger Davis, Mark Cohen and 'Seasons of Love' soloist, respectively, at New York Theatre Workshop and on Broadway. Justin Johnston (Angel), Michael McElroy (Collins) - who are also in the touring show -and Stewart were all members of the final company of RENT which played its last performance on Broadway September 7, 2008. Adam Pascal received Obie and Theatre World awards and Tony and Drama Desk nominations for best actor for RENT. On Broadway he also originated the role of Radames in the hit musical Aida and starred as the Emcee in the long-running revival of Cabaret. His film credits include Rent, School of Rock, SLC Punk!, Temptation and Goyband. An actor since the age of six, Anthony Rapp has appeared on Broadway in Precious Sons (Outer Critics Circle Award), Six Degrees of Separation, and the revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. His films include Adventures in Babysitting, School Ties, Dazed and Confused, Six Degrees of Separation, David Searching, Man of the Century, Road Trip, A Beautiful Mind, Open House, Winter Passing, Danny Roane: First Time Director and Scaring the Fish. His book, Without You: a Memoir of Love, Loss, and the Musical Rent, about his experiences on and offstage, was published in 2006 by Simon & Schuster and became a national bestseller.

The Bob the BuilderTM LIVE! Spud's Big Mess performances scheduled at ASU Gammage for Sunday, March 8 have been cancelled. ASU Gammage apologizes for any inconvenience. A full refund will be issued to all patrons who have purchased tickets and should contact the ASU Gammage Box Office at 480.965.3434 to make arrangements. Tickets purchased by credit card will automatically be refunded. If not purchased by credit card you will need to return your tickets to where you purchased them.

Les Miserables at Phoenix Theatre continues to break box office records as a seventh and final week of shows has been added. No show in the Theatre's 88-year history has experienced such a demand. The show, originally scheduled to close March 22, will now close April 5, 2009.

Les Miserables, the modern musical masterpiece based on Victor Hugo's epic novel, has exceeded all financial and creative expectations set by Phoenix Theatre management and local critics. It has grossed more than $500,000 in ticket sales, providing jobs for the more than 100 people. It is also the highest attended show in the theatre?s history.

The newly added shows are March 25 - 7:30pm; March 26 - 7:30pm; March 27 - 8:00pm; March 28 - 8:00pm; March 29 - 2:00pm. Previously scheduled performances February 18 - March 22, 2009 sold out prior to opening.
