Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has invited kids and their families to take part in a free interactive performance of Polyglot Theatre's We Built This City on Mother's Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13. Two 120-minute performances will take place outdoors in Scottsdale Civic Center Park on each day at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Admission is free and tickets are not required. Refreshments from Shine Coffee and picnic foods are available for purchase.

While construction in Downtown Tucson for the modern streetcar has been moved up, closing Congress Street to all traffic from Toole Avenue to Stone Avenue effective April 9th, 2nd Saturdays will continue its International Carnival event on April 14th as planned. All vendors and outdoor entertainment venues will be relocated to accommodate the closures.

The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix presents the World Premiere of Sakura no Ne (Root of the Cherry Tree). This stage production brings to life the story of two everyday kids and their unexpected relationship with an older Japanese gentleman gardener at The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix. Initially viewed as an unwelcome introduction to Japanese arts,c ulture and activities in Arizona, the kids find themselves willingly learning the importance of understanding the difference between self-confidence and selfishness.

Jane Krakowski is a veteran Broadway performer, who has appeared in productions ranging from "Grand Hotel" to "Nine", for which she won a 2003 Tony Award. On screen, Krakowski is best known for her roles as a man-eating office assistant in "Ally McBeal," and as Jenna Maroney on NBC's "30 Rock".
