City of Angels Revival

Last year, Rob Houchen was seen on both sides of the Atlantic in The Light in the Piazza, and returned to the role of Marius in Les Miserables: The Staged Concert at the Gielgud Theatre. He's also part of the team behind the successful West End Does concert series. Rob spoke to BroadwayWorld about his career and his most recent role in the anticipated West End transfer of the Olivier Award-winning production City of Angels, now in previews at the Garrick Theatre.

Josie Rourke's critically acclaimed and Olivier Award winning production of City of Angels makes its West End transfer five years since opening at the Donmar Warehouse in 2014. With a swinging score by Cy Coleman and David Zippel and a brilliantly witty book by Larry Gelbart, City of Angels is a musical love letter to the glamorous world of old Hollywood and film noir. The musical will play at the Garrick Theatre for a limited season, with previews from Thursday 5 March 2020, reuniting the production's entire creative team.

City of Angels, the Olivier Award winning production directed by Josie Rourke, is pleased to announce that award winning Hollywood actor, Theo James, best known for playing Four in Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant, will be joining the cast as Stone and stage actor Jonathan Slinger (various roles at the RSC and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Buddy / Irwin.
