Today we rewind to 2012, when Dogfight opened off-Broadway. Dogfight is a musical with music and lyrics by Pasek & Paul and a book by Peter Duchan. It is an adaptation of Nancy Savoca's 1991 film Dogfight. The Second Stage Theatre production was directed by Joe Mantello, choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, and starred Derek Klena, Lindsay Mendez, Annaleigh Ashford, Josh Segarra and more.

Justin Paul and Benj Pasek have won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre for Dear Evan Hansen. They were previously nominated for the original score of 2013's A CHRISTMAS STORY: THE MUSICAL. Earlier this year, the duo won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for LA LA LAND's 'City of Stars' They were also nominated for the song 'Audition' from the film.

An emotionally harrowing journey, DEAR EVAN HANSEN is a story that's hits home for a lot of its audience members. At the helm of this production is Michael Greif, who earned a Tony nomination for Best Director of a Musical for his part in bringing this story to life. Groundhog Day tells the story of Phil Connors (Andy Karl), a disgruntled big-city weatherman mysteriously stuck in small-town America reliving the same day over and over and over again. The musical made its world premiere try-out at The Old Vic in London in summer 2016 and opened at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway on 17 April 2017.

Happy Birthday Sherie Rene Scott! On Broadway Scott has starred as Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, garnering nominations for a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award; Amneris in Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida (2000), for which she won the Clarence Derwent Award and was a Drama League Honoree; Sally in Tommy (1993); Marty in Grease (1995-96); Maureen in Rent (1997); and originated the role of Ursula in The Little Mermaid (2007). In 2010 Scott starred in the critically acclaimed production Everyday Rapture, which Scott wrote with co-author Dick Scanlan. She most recently starred as Pepa in the musical adaptation of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

Second Stage Theatre will soon feature Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables, Dear John, Mamma Mia!, upcoming Ted 2 and Pan) and Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom, Wild, upcoming in NBC's The Slap) in the upcoming world premiere production of NEIL LaBUTE's drama, The Way We Get By. Directed by Tony nominee LEIGH SILVERMAN, the production will begin previews on April 28, 2015 and officially open on May 20, 2015 at Second Stage Theatre, 305 West 43rd Street.
