Following her performance in The Little Mermaid, Halle Bailey is continuing her year by playing Nettie in The Color Purple movie musical. Bailey plays Nettie, the younger sister of Celie, who is first played by Phylicia Pearl Mpasi before Fantasia Barrino takes on the mature version. Nettie is later played by Ciara. Watch the video!

A new trailer for the movie musical adaptation of The Color Purple has been released. Watch Fantasia Barrino, Danielle Brooks, Taraji P. Henson, and the star-studded cast in the new video now! The film is produced by produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, and more.

The video featurette offers a brand-new look at scenes from the film, including a first look at Ciara as Nettie and John Baptiste as Grady. Led by Oprah, Winfrey the featurette also includes interviews with the film's stars, like Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, H.E.R., and more.

They also discussed the return of Broadway and why the industry needs to be more diverse.

Leslie Grace plays Nina Rosario in Lin-Manuel Miranda's 'In The Heights,' which will be released in theaters and on HBO Max this Friday, June 11th. 

In the interview, Ramos talked about getting his career start in Radio City Music Hall, and teased his album Love and Lies. He also talked about stepping into Lin-Manuel Miranda’s role for the movie adaptation of In the Heights, and how Miranda didn't offer him much advice.

Stephanie also reveals that starring in the movie with Broadway actress Daphne Rubin-Vega is extremely special since she looked up to her as a Latina woman when she was growing up.

During the commerical breaks of the 2019 Tony Awards, Corden went into the audience to have attendees perform some Broadway karaoke. Christopher Jackson and Anthony Ramos teamed up during one of the commercials to perform 96,000 from In The Heights!
