Paradise Square officially resumed performances last night, April 19, after briefly going dark due to COVID cases within the cast. Joaquina Kalukango gave a speech after last night's performance, where she talked about being grateful to be back on stage.

Bringing together Maestra friends and supporters from around the world, Amplify 2022 presented by American Express, will take place both in-person and virtually to raise money and highlight Maestra's programs which provide support, visibility, and community for the women and nonbinary music makers in the theater industry. Well, we did it! Broadway Sessions recently celebrated it's 10th anniversary with a full blown SUPER SHOW! On Monday October 16, 16 Wicked women gathered in song in The Green Room 42. The Green Elixir Mixer was a one night only concert featuring some of the most iconic actresses to have ever played the roles of Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked. The lineup included original Broadway cast members, current cast members and so many in between.

See the brand-new music video for 'Sonya Alone' from the immersive Broadway musical Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812. Starring actress Brittain Ashford, who plays Sonya in the show, the video features one of the show's most tender moments as the actress sings the moving, act two ballad.

Okieriete 'Oak' Onaodowan, best known for originating the roles of Hercules Mulligan and James Madison in Hamilton, will join the cast of the new Broadway musical NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 as 'Pierre' beginning July 3, 2017, starring alongside Denée Benton as 'Natasha.' WICKED! I've got your attention now haven't I? Well, Wicked is a big word in my part of the world and maybe in yours too. 13 years ago I was honored to be a part of the original Broadway cast of the Oz-inspired blockbuster (you may have even heard my work on track #2 asking 'Glinda, is it true you were her friend?… but I digress).  At Broadway Sessions we like to celebrate Wicked Day (along with another spooky holiday) with ELPHABALL! Our salute to all things Wicked, featuring all women who have played the famously misunderstood green girl, Elphaba. Our 2nd annual ElphaBall was in a word, magic. 

After a sold-out run at the Canal Room, 'The TRL Generation' brought its wildly successful 'Broadway Loves the Spice Girls' concert uptown to 54 Below on January 13th. The 'Girl Power'-filled song and dance extravaganza was musically directed by Benjamin Rauhala, directed by Kyle Fox, and produced by Shoshana Feinstein. Earlier this week, the cast of AMERICAN IDIOT set out for Southhampton, where they will launch the UK tour of Green Day's explosive, award-winning Broadway rock musical, which will culminate in a London season at the legendary HMV Hammersmith Apollo from December 4 - 16. Before the company left for he UK, they invited BroadwayWorld's Randy Rainbow to a New Jersey salon, where they gathered to get haircuts, dye jobs and receive overall touch-ups on their punk rock looks.
