The countdown to the Tony Awards has a officially begun! On June 12, the brightest stars of the 2021-22 season will shine even brighter as they gather at the iconic Radio City Music Hall to celebrate Broadway's biggest night. Ntozake Shange's groundbreaking for colored girls who have considered suicide/ when the rainbow is enuf is coming to Broadway, directed and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Camille A. Brown. Performances begin next week on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street) and open on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

Today we rewind to 2017, when Once On This Island was getting ready to return to Broadway. Once On This Island opened on December 3 at the Circle in the Square Theatre, where it played for 457 performances.

Following a young African-American dancer, Viveca, from West Coast suburbia to Broadway, all the while navigating the politics of race and gender in an attempt to uncover her own identity, The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin is directed by Robert O'Hara with choreography by Byron Easley and music direction by Annastasia Victory.

Andrew Lippa's tragic Jazz Age love story The Wild Party follows party girl Queenie (two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster) over the course of one decadent, booze-soaked night as she and her lover Burrs (Steven Pasquale) throw the party to end all parties-with a guest list of vaudevillians, hookers, and a handsome stranger (Brandon Victor Dixon) who offers Queenie the hope of a less tawdry life.
