The Broadway Green Alliance launched Earth Week by joining the Earth Day Initiative and March for Science NYC for their Earth Day 50 Virtual Kick-Off on Sunday, April 19. As part of the special live stream, members of the Broadway community joined via virtual performance, sharing songs and messages of activism.
Performances begin tonight for the New York City Center Encores! first show of the 2020 season- Mack & Mabel, running for seven performances February 19-23. Led by Broadway's Douglas Sills and Alexandra Socha in the title roles, the production will also star Major Attaway (Fatty Arbuckle), Michael Berresse (William Desmond Taylor), Lilli Cooper (Lottie Ames), Ben Fankhauser (Frank Wyman), Jordan Gelber (Mr. Kessel), Evan Kasprzak (Freddy), Raymond J. Lee (Andy), Kevin Ligon (Eddie), Janet Noh (Ella), and Allen Lewis Rickman (Mr. Bauman).

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Head Over Heels, the new musical comedy featuring the iconic songs of The Go-Go's - the most successful female rock band of all time - will play its final Broadway performance at Hudson Theatre (141 West 44th Street) this weekend, on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Before it goes forever however, the cast is opening up about the show's important message of love and acceptance. 'Head Over Heels presents a kind of utopian society, where love and authenticity reigns,' says cast member Rachel York. Check out what the rest of the gang had to say below!

Kicking off the Encores! season is Hey, Look Me Over! (Feb 7 - 11), an original production from the Tony- honored series responsible for bringing classic American musicals back to life since 1994. To celebrate Encores! at 25, Viertel and Encores! Music Director Rob Berman created Hey, Look Me Over!---a collection of opening numbers, grand finales, and other excerpts from beloved shows that have not yet found a berth on the City Center stage. They include: All American, George M!, Greenwillow, Jamaica, Mack & Mabel, Milk and Honey, Sail Away, and Wildcat.
