Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, has announced IT STARTED AS A JOKE will be released on-demand on Friday, April 3. The feature documentary chronicles the decade-long run of the EUGENE MIRMAN COMEDY FESTIVAL including the final farewell show. Packed with stars and offering an intimate look at the New York comedy scene, It Started As A Joke celebrates Eugene's unique brand of humor and his role in the alternative comedy movement. Heartfelt and hilarious, the doc offers a bittersweet goodbye to an era and reminds us of the healing properties of comedy – even in the most challenging of life's circumstances.

Crooked Media co-founder and Pod Save America co-host Jon Lovett has taken his podcast Lovett or Leave It on the road, and on Friday, September 13, Lovett brings the live show to New York's famed Radio City Music Hall.  The hilarious week-in-review podcast is hosted with a panel of comedians, actors, journalists in front of a live audience.  For his Radio City live show, special guests will include Stacey Abrams, Desus and Mero, Wyatt Cenac, Dulcé Sloan, and Alyssa Mastromonaco. 

BET Networks announced that Devin Griffin joins the company as General Manager, BET+. The subscription video-on-demand service focused on the African American audience, BET+, will feature more than 1,000 hours of premium content including exclusive new original programming and fan-favorite series, movies, and specials from BET Networks, world-renowned creator Tyler Perry, and a host of leading African American content creators. Griffin will report to Scott Mills, President of BET Networks. Griffin will be based in Los Angeles. In his role, Griffin will manage the BET+ P&L and oversee business strategy & operations, including original programming, content acquisitions, marketing, distribution, planning and analysis.

Does the singular act of donating a kidney make you a hero? Amanda has a certificate dedicated to her heroism but she's uncomfortable with that label. On the other hand! She loves the attention being a hero provides her so she wrote a solo show about all the containers of pee she had to carry on the subway. I'm Just Kidneying takes a whimsical look into the process of living kidney donation and pokes holes into the idea of what it takes to be "hero material."
