The band's fifth album is a statement piece that finds Charlie Martin and Will Taylor at the height of their powers, broadening the scope of their songwriting. The collection centers Hovvdy's creative maturation in a true co-production between the band, Andrew Sarlo (Bon Iver, Big Thief), and Bennett Littlejohn (bassist, multi-instrumentalist).

Written in 2022 with collaborator Rob Milton and songwriter Ben Leftwich, Work In Progress includes a new collaboration with Flyte's Will Taylor and producer Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Dijon, Bon Iver). Having also collaborated with MUNA for a reimagined version of “Into You Room,” dv4d on “Superbloodmoon” and Del Water Gap on “Cigarettes & Wine.'

Hovvdy, the Texas duo composed of Charlie Martin and Will Taylor, release “Bubba,” a piano-driven new single produced by the band with Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Bon Iver, Dijon) and Ben Littlejohn, out now via Arts & Crafts. The track follows the release of “Jean,” the band's latest single. Flyte, the band's self-titled third album, and was recorded over 10 days at London’s Konk Studios with LA’s Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Bon Iver) and legendary engineer Dom Monks. Notoriously tricky songwriting territory, their third album explores the themes of love and stability, showing Flyte at their most honest, confident and collaborative.

Flyte is the most intimate record the London based duo have yet produced, but also the most optimistic. Recorded in a week at London’s Konk Studios with Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Bon Iver) and engineer Dom Monks, who both “pulled the truth and flawed beauty out of things without you even realising it.'

Imaginary People Deluxe Edition is out this Friday via Grand Jury. The deluxe edition will be available for purchase on CD & cassette on Friday, while standard vinyl versions of the album are available now.

Broadway Sessions will welcome Broadway favorites to share their wildest true audition stories and sing the house down! Scheduled to perform are Shereen Pimentel (West Side Story), Joey Taranto (Kinky Boots), Brynn Williams (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Courtney Bassett (Great Comet), and more.

Last month, the band announced their new Andrew Sarlo (Bon Iver, Big Thief) co-produced album with its title track “True Love,” which garnered praise from Pitchfork, NPR, Stereogum and Brooklyn Vegan, amongst others, and was named one of the best songs of the week by The FADER, Consequence of Sound, Paste, UPROXX and Under The Radar.

Charlie Martin is a Texan artist and producer. Six years ago, Charlie and collaborator Will Taylor combined likeminded batches of material to form the Austin-based project Hovvdy.

As the final installment of its virtual winter season, Northern Sky Theater will present a virtual concert by songwriter and singer Doc Heide on Saturday, April 17 at 7 p.m. CDT. The show will premiere live on the 17th and then be available on demand through May 31.
