Governor Phil Murphy highlighted the economic benefits of the Garden State Film and Digital Media Jobs Act on Friday, Oct. 5 as he visited the set of NBC and Universal Television's 'The Enemy Within,' the first production to begin filming in New Jersey since the act became law in July. Matt Corman, an executive producer of 'The Enemy Within,' introduced the governor.
NBC's Writers on the Verge Program Names 2018-19 Class

NBC's Writers on the Verge has named comedy writers Bernard Badion, Edward Excaliber, Joanne Lee and Sara White, and drama writers Pamela García Rooney, Marissa Lee, Tiffany Shaw Ho and Margot Ye as its 2018-19 class. They were chosen from an applicant pool of more than 2,200 submissions to be part of the long-tenured initiative for emerging diverse writers.

THE LAB from West Covina, CA were named the winners of NBC's “World of Dance” Season 2, receiving a life-altering grand prize of $1 million and the title of BEST DANCERS IN THE WORLD. The Junior Team impressed judges with a strong performance to Missy Elliot's “Work It” and a heartfelt performance to “Waiting on the World to Change” by John Mayer, overtaking runner-up Michael Dameski [96.0] with an overall score of 97.5.

The Television Academy tonight presented the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday night honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Saturday ceremony, which kicked-off the 70th Emmys, awarded many talented artists and craftspeople in the categories of animation, scripted programming including comedy, drama and limited series. The Sunday ceremony honored performers, artists and craftspeople for excellence in variety, nonfiction or reality programming, reality competition programming, music, choreography, as well as documentary or nonfiction specials, informational series or specials.

National Alliance for Musical Theatre announces the line-up of directors for their 30th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26, 2018 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The Festival events will kick off on Monday, October 22 with Thank You, 30!, a gala event to celebrate the 30th Annual Festival.

The life of late legendary producer Craig Zadan will be celebrated by the Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF) - the organization dedicated to supporting theatre arts in schools and nurturing students all over the country - at the organization's annual West Coast gala Thespians Go Hollywood - Honoring the Life and Work of Craig Zadan. The celebration will take place on November 11, 2018 at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' headquarters in North Hollywood. The announcement was made by Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment, and Julie Cohen Theobald, President of the Educational Theatre Foundation.
