International City Theatre presents the West Coast premiere of Under the Skin, a surprising new comedy by Michael Hollinger (Opus). caryn desai [sic] directs the three-week run, April 28 through May 14, at ICT's home in the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. Two low-priced previews are set for April 26 and April 27.

Threshholds of Invention is Odyssey Theatre Ensemble's new series, curated by actor, director, musician and performance artist Tony Abatemarco, of first looks at pieces-in-progress by prominent L.A. visionaries working in pop-up form. With the previous two performances of Wide Eyed in Wonder—Escapades and Serenades along Love's Trail of Longing sold out, Odyssey Theatre Ensemble’s Music at the Odyssey series has announced one additional performance on July 30.

Bass player John Snow will return to curate, music direct and emcee Odyssey Theatre Ensemble’s live Music at the Odyssey series this summer with celebrations honoring Joni Mitchell, Stephen Sondheim and Nina Simone.

Award-winning theatre company Son of Semele Ensemble is announcing its departure from their Silver Lake home of 18 years. Led by Founding Artistic Director Matthew McCray since 2000, the company has been in residence at 3301 Beverly Boulevard in a black box theatre they created in 2003. 

Sandra Tsing Loh streams her 2015 comedic hit THE BITCH IS BACK for The Broad Stage, beginning June 23, 2021. This streaming performance of THE BITCH IS BACK recorded live will be complemented with added live talkbacks featuring special guests Marlo Thomas, Caroline Aaron, Marilu Henner, Melanie Mayron and JoBeth Williams. NPR personality, best-selling author and performer Sandra Tsing Loh makes her East West Players (EWP) debut with a new staging of her whimsical holiday tale Sugar Plum Fairy, Dec. 5-23, directed by Bart DeLorenzo and co-starring Shannon Holt and Tony Abatemarco. The two-time Telly Award-winning film version of The Blank Theatre's production of The Tragedy of JFK (as told by Wm. Shakespeare) is now available for free streaming on YouTube (https://youtu.be/jhnBy9fKvHk). Conceived, adapted, and directed by Daniel Henning, the play had its world premiere in Los Angeles on October 1, 2016.

The Skylight Theatre Company continues to provoke and encourage conversation and education. Their latest offering, opening September 21st, is a strong continuation of that tradition.
